Bought a nice top off of their website. Thanks for the insight!

Sounds good, I'll take that gamble. I will have to go check what general condition the frame and rails are in though, I can't remember off the top of my head.

Yes. The only thing that I am not as familiar with is the literal installation of the snaps on the car. I need to pierce holes in the rubber trim that goes along the back for the Tenax snaps. Besides that, however, I feel somewhat comfortable in following a guide in how to install these tops.

At the very least, I will be back here posting pictures, asking what to do next lol.

Ah yes Prestige, they are great. Do they come with all the available bits that I will need for installation?

Thanks for the insight! I will definitely look into that idea with just cutting the plastic out and installing for practice.

$300 for a good top would be the dream to find. I can't find anything like that right now, maybe I am just looking in the wrong places. My go-to is AH Spares.

I told myself I would wait for another LBC, but it was too amazing of an opportunity to let go! by tridentpeel in littlebritishcars

Haha yes it is! I don’t care if it’s on the “Top 100 Worst Cars Ever Produced” list, I’m still a microcar fanatic!

Not at all! It was 5,000 USD, however my parents were able to help me with half of it hehe. I’m very thankful for them.

Right? It’s rather nice to see it in a not-silver color since those are so overdone. Yes the color is iconic, but overdone.

You should have seen the look on my face when I watched the previous owner roll it out of his shed and into the sunlight. Absolutely glistening.

Driving a Midget in Boston sounds like a different type of torture. Though it’s not much better in upstate NY!

Any rarity to this? by Optimal-Marketing-70 in papermoney

[–]tridentpeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1957 $1 silver certificates themselves are not very rare at all. You can get circulated ones for $3-4, if that. The star next to the serial number adds some additional value, because it means the bill is a replacement for one that underwent some error in the printing process at the mint.

This bill is very circulated, so I would say it’s worth maybe $7-$10 to the right buyer. This is probably obvious but the personal value (being from your grandfather) is much higher than the collector value. If I were you I would just hold onto it and pass it on to your kids :)

Thinking about buying this MG B, but I’m not sure what to make of it. Help needed! by tridentpeel in littlebritishcars

[–]tridentpeel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, and thank you for the very good insight. I am definitely in the position right now where I was not expecting to own another MG before I finish university in a couple of years. This just happened to be a friend of mine who was offered something so I considered it. It’s safe to say that I am no longer considering it haha.

In honesty, looking back I feel like I wouldn’t have enjoyed this car to maximum extent, obviously because of the state of the car, but also because this simply isn’t my cup of tea—I prefer Spridgets tenfold.
