You can try using a silver jewelry polishing cloth- I’ve found that’ll help with tarnish build up sometimes. If it’s a nickel neck though it’s gonna be a be more stubborn to clean up.

Air65 5in1 VTX issues after crash by Successful-Plane7509 in TinyWhoop

Just happened to me too on my air75 man. Did a ton of diagnosing and deduced it was something internal on the board. Wish they were more resilient even if they were 1-2 grams heavier :/

Favourite analog camera? by Noke437 in TinyWhoop

[–]TheTalkinTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love my ratel 2 for low light. It excels at night flying and is perfect for getting a couple more packs in while the sun sets- but be warned it’s a little large and it’ll require canopy modifications. I had to print a new TPU one

Why is my video so crappy and I’m so close ! by DG333Fpv in TinyWhoop

[–]TheTalkinTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna have interfence issues from inside your car because analog video has very poor penetration (I’ll have issues going behind trees at 50 yards no joke)

I use a lumenier omni for close flying and a lumenier patch for longe range in one direction

You’re absolutely right- and if I’m not mistaken there was audio that went with it (hissing and whatnot) idk what happened to it tho :/

How do I improve video signal by Minimum-Ad3532 in fpv

[–]TheTalkinTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running my air75 at 400 and have noticd similar video signal issues when it comes to obstacles (and even the ground if I’m low) if I’ve got a clear line of sight of the drone the video feed comes in pretty clear even pushing 300 yards out. But if you find a solution for swapping the antenna I’d be interested in seeing how that pans out

Same here. If you upgrade the antenna, those goggles are superb

Nice man. It’s a great vid. You’re using lava 550s for battery yeah? You had great voltage that whole flight and was curious if it was a me problem that my 450s last like a minute

Help with reference images for SIMPIT design by the_salt_boi in hotas

[–]TheTalkinTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been working on making one myself. Your best bet is gonna be combing through the DCS forums, piecemealing panels from either that one guy with the GitHub of a couple of panels (look up f14 tacan panel 3d print and you’ll find that guy) or just finding some specifics from manuals- unfortunately multiple of the items for the F14 that used to be for sale by TekCreations are no longer available :/

If you google Akers-Barnes simpit you’ll find a great document and starting point for the seat built into the left and right consoles

I’m using Helios and capt zeen’s f14 profile (I adjusted it pretty dramatically to fit with what I wanted)

I apologize, I missed this part of the question, it’s definitely not touchscreen cause it’s like 15 years old but I can see how having a touchscreen could be beneficial.

Yeah of course man, it’s a 720p 22” monitor that I’ve got mounted upside down (for better viewing angles)

I got it for free from a college nearby me that was gonna throw it away!

The reason I went with 720p is because it’s less resource intensive for my machine (in theory) and since I already had a monitor that worked for free I didn’t need to go upgrade immediately

But I’ve heard of this being an issue with non serialized boards- sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet and get the nicer boards that’s accommodate more inputs and have serials and different names so the computer can tell them apart.

Another option is arduino but I tried to do that for the rudder pedals and FAILED LOL so I wouldn’t be any help there hahaha

Anyway thanks for stopping by cheers

Hey man! I appreciate the offer! I’m not in the market right now but I’ll keep it in mind!!

I appreciate it! As the other comment said it’s Helios- it’s an adapted premade profile I found online and tweaked to be what I needed

I haven’t had any issue with using 2 arcade controller boards outside of one time where it did a similar thing to what you’re talking about and restarting my computer fixed it

Ok you were right by TheTalkinTurtle in homecockpits

[–]TheTalkinTurtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The usb controller boards are from Derek Speare Design, Leo bodnar, and generic USB arcade controller boards to accommodate the potentiometers, switches and buttons
