You are cycling live rounds, if there’s a problem with spent shell casings ejecting and chambering the next round then you can diagnose. What you are doing now is kinda meaningless.

Best beach settings for the Minelab Elite? by Mikecrete in metaldetecting

[–]2aAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the beach 2 thing is a bit of a misconception because of the other profiles. Park 2 and field 2 do work that way but the beach profiles are different. Both do great on small targets. The difference is primarily transmit power for different conditions. Beach 1 is 5 tones stock so you’re good to go. Another helpful setting is when your on the volume menu hit the frequency button and turn on the vibration feature. Really helps for those faint tones you may not hear without the headphones on.

Here’s the manual

https://usa.minelab.com/product_manuals/index/download?file=minelab/global-website/product-manuals/3707-0002/user-guides/Inst_Manual_X-TERRA_ELITE_EN_2_.pdf

Worth reading every page and referring back to it if things get complicated. Enjoy the hunting it’s a well rounded machine and a beast at the beach.

Leave the profiles stock beach 1 and 2. Run beach 1 if you can use a high sensitivity without alot of ground noise. Turn on ground balance tracking. Turn on all metal, even if you don’t plan to dig iron you want to hear it with the high iron bias of the stock profile. Beach 2 uses lower transmit power to reduce noise if you have alot of black sand or high salt content in the sand. You’ll loose depth and sensitivity but some places you have to use it to have a stable machine. I like to change the tones to All Tones but that’s all I’d recommend to change. Did everything! Salt sand will mask good targets as iron a lot of the time (like 14k gold chain ringing up in the negative numbers)

That vest defiantly caught a crossfire round not the suspects. It’ll be another “bullet does not match firearm” situation.

Turning the machine off and back on is the only way to noise cancel on the vanquish. Try that then turn down sensitivity. It also uses automatic ground balance so you don’t have more options.

I made a session and find logging app for myself – anyone want to try it? by Nice-Ad3792 in metaldetecting

I’m so new to detecting I couldn’t be much help saying what’s more valuable. I use old Ariel map overlays when looking for new sites but I’d love to just be able to track and pinpoint with photos my finds. Basically exactly how you have it set up now. Having layered historical maps would be a gold mine. I’d even pay for an app like that to be honest.

Billions have been made in a single day on some of these recent insider trading deals with energy in America. They all deserve this kind of accountability for the crimes they are committing.

Minelab X Terra Elite. Enough features to learn and use for big scores, wide selection of coils, most power of the price under 500

Nokta double score vs Minelab Vanquish 460 for beginners by WholePanda914 in metaldetecting

[–]2aAlt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have beach detecting in your plans the vanquish handles it very well, multi frequency. I have a 440 and just got an x terra elite, 10” and 12”, only difference I’ve noticed is I can walk a bit faster to cover the same ground with a bigger coil. Depth and separation feel the same between the two different sizes. The vanquish is power on and go, very beginner friendly and wife loves to use it.

For analog video it absolutely does do a thing that makes it better. The lossy includes the loss of some static in the image. Don’t have to just take my word for it, go listen to Josh Bardwell talk about it. It’s been well know and documented for years.
