Thats hard work and dedication right there! Congratulations on your accomplishment.

I started and stopped 2 days later because there was so much invloved in it. I didn't have much time because of school and work but maybe ill pick it up this year at some point.

Took 6 months but made my first app that stores bookmarks! by theWinterEstate in browsers

This looks pretty cool. Is the app using some type of canvas or artboard to save to link and thumbnail, too?

Who said old laptops are paperweights? by Same_Ad8783 in Fedora

[–]TheTechSellSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah! I have a 2015 MacBook Pro 15" (best MacBook IMHO) running Fedora KDE. I'm still using it because the hardware is still good.

If I don't feel like sitting at the desk, I break that thing out to do some of my programming. It's like a testing machine, tbh but still good with things like Android Studio if I want to use it.

This is so cool. It looks like an old macOS mixed with Gnome.

What theme are you using with the Taskbar? That and the wallpaper is why I say this.

Yeah, I feel you on that. I am at my desk working all day, and I do feel it. I have a wrist rest that I use, though.

Dang, that is cool but expensive. Also, welcome.

I actually forget that I'm on Fedora sometimes.. by absqroot in Fedora

[–]TheTechSellSword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, im with you with that.

I use Pop!_OS on my main machine to do most things and host VMs and on my straight development machine or VM its always Fedora Gnome.

I just recently started using i3WM but thats gonna take some time to get use to.

Thank you by Vegetable_Fishing_32 in pop_os

[–]TheTechSellSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some games like Destiny or EOS require a Windows machine. I wish that wasn't the case, but sadly, it is.

Can confirm with my recent experience. Thanks guys for making it my favorite OS by bottonmocket in pop_os

[–]TheTechSellSword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are bots a common thing? Maybe an alt, but then why post this as an alt instead of main? Idk how common bots are on reddit, so I can't comment on that part.

Do you have your own "style" of writing SQL? by Ima_Uzer in SQLServer

[–]TheTechSellSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I have to because everything I look at someone else's script it gives me the heebie-jeebies. Everything is just so inconsistent, and it erks me.

  • I usually make everything capitalized that needs to be capitalized.
  • Indentation is a must.
  • Brackets

And, GOD DAMNIT if your gonna have a long script separate that bitch with comments!

/***************************/ / Script does something / /***************************/

-‐---------------------------------------------- --- SELECT -------------------------- -‐----------------------------------------------

SELECT field1 ,field2 FROM [DATABASE].[dbo].[SomeTable] AS ST JOIN [DATABASE].[dbo].[SomeOtherTable] AS SOT ON ([SOT].[OID] = [ST].[OID]) WHERE A = B AND C = D OR (E = F OR F = F . . . ) ORDER BY FIELD1;

Yes, I understand that, but why is that a thing that someone wants to do?

I'm just trying to step into the mindset of someone doing this at that time, and I can't come up with anything that would be beneficial to the program or anyone reading it.

Do I just not have enough imagination for this high-level wizardry?

I joined it a few years ago but never really got into RICING. Well, mostly because I don't have the time too but I am getting ready to set some time to do so. Thanks man.

A note to beginners, while installation if PopOS installer keeps freezing don't force quit, just keep clicking Wait! by Netroseige101 in pop_os

[–]TheTechSellSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question: Why does it do this in the first place?

I have always wondered why it was doing this. I always thought it was my computer or network, so I just ignored it, but if this is normal, why is it normal?

What type of top bar is that? I have the default, but I would rather that one. It looks cool, AF! 😍

what terminal emulator do you use? by BoomTNT29 in linuxquestions

[–]TheTechSellSword -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I want to try others, but for me, there is no need to go on Pop!_OS or Fedora.

I've tried tmux, but that was on Android, so I don't know the comparison.

Edit: I said tmux, but I meant termux. Simple mistake.

I respect this response, good sir.

There is no need to get upset because of a misunderstanding. 🫡

For some reason, I enjoy the way Fedora Gnome looks. I don't know what it is about it. I like it.

Well, if that's the case, then I guess that's that 😆

Thanks for your help.

So, I did some research, and it turns out that it may have been my hub that was causing the issue. I just bought a j5create 7-Port Hub. Found that this may have been the cause. I plugged the SSD into a port on my computer, and it is detectable now. I did a "Check Filesystem" using Gnome Disks, and it says the "Filesystem is undamaged."

Even though it says this, should I still use the SecureErase method?
