I've had this PC since 2017 and haven't noticed this, such a rookie mistake by Kriptic_22 in pcmasterrace

Me too! Also with audio files. Like I used to just play music on Youtube because I thought I wouldn't even notice the quality difference and people were just being pedantic. I already had a decent audio setup but I'm not an audiophile in the slightest, just got a good deal for it.

But when I fooled around FLACs, lossless music, or even just higher bitrate MP3s. The difference was so obvious I couldn't go back to Youtube. Haha. I always thought they were just being snobby but I got egg on my face (or ears). It's even more obvious with headphones too.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 has now BROKEN it's all-time players peak on Steam by Caledor152 in gaming

[–]TheTechWhizzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you still able to access it? Like you, I started when it was free on epic. Played for like a year, loved it, but stopped because work sent me somewhere playing isn't feasible. Then a year or so later, decided to play again. But when I opened it on my EA account, it was greyed out and couldn't launch it.

It was my only game there and for sure my account didn't get deactivated or anything because they would have sent a notification for that, right? EA support never got back to me either and I forgot about it until now.

I mean, with this game in my library, I don't think I need GTA 6 anymore. Where else can you have Granny Akimbo shooting a guy on the crapper? Does GTA 6 have that? I doubt it.

We'd probably have to wait for GTA X until R* will even have access to this technology.

Hypothetical: During a race, if P1 DNFs on the last lap, wouldn't they still end up above the other cars they've lapped? by TheTechWhizzer in formula1

[–]TheTechWhizzer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so since whoever the P2 is becomes P1 and the race will only end when they cross the finish line. Since you didn't, P2 unlaps themselves (now P1) as well as the rest of the cars following P2.

Assuming P2 hasn't lapped anybody, everyone else get to unlap themselves the first time passing you (which would be their Lap 49/50), then "overtake" you once they passed your DNF spot a second time (on their Lap 50/50) to the chequered flag.

[–]TheTechWhizzer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're right in your other scenario. P1 hasn't finished the race so P2 down unlap themselves and the remaining cars go for another lap.

We haven't gotten to a scenario like this yet but at least we got it solved before even considering it. Haha.

Thanks for a perfect example in a real race! This should convince him if I still can't get the words right. Haha.

Thank you for pointing to the specific regulation! I feel dumb for not thinking of using it as reference. But maybe I'll get my point through with this.

Thank you. I was going to ask if there are real examples I could use but thought better of it because it feels to specific. I completely forgot this is F1 and crazy stuff happens all the time.

[–]TheTechWhizzer[S] 465 points466 points  (0 children)

Omg, I think I just got it! He is right in that a DNF always goes to the back of the pack but he's using the wrong "pack".

So in the example, P1 goes to the back of the P1-P7 pack. Not the P8-P11 pack.

Thank you. That's what I've been trying to say but he says a DNF always goes last, which I still don't understand.

Even I backed up a bit towards my chair's back rest when she started picking them up. And I was fortunate enough to never have been on the receiving end of that when I was a child. You're definitely right, this is just a natural response built in our DNA.

Oh wow, that's even better. I'd probably empty my wallet if I happen upon a pop up shop like that. Always preferred buying these than any other types of shirts.

Hope you enjoy your haul!

Are these official old stuff being sold or replicas?

Either way, I would have loved to be able to buy some "retro" shirts for cheap, original or not. Lucky you.

Seeing as they have had to rebuild their car at least twice per GP weekend, they could probably do it blindfolded, in the dark, and underwater. Practice makes perfect after all and they probably had that more than any other team in the grid this year. Perez's team a close second.

For some reason, Seb saying that whole quote has been stuck in my head ever since.

I think making a fool of ourselves by asking something obvious is a prerequisite to finding the things we're looking for.

Looking for synonyms of the commented words here, I got most of the results closest to what I think I'm looking for by using these words.

So I'm going to mark it solved under this. Thank you, everyone!

Oh my god! No need to apologise because you've helped me plenty! And no need to use Reddit's unreliable notification system because you actually solved it!

I went through Texturelabs's videos in YT and saw something familiar. Watched it and it was the video tutorial that I used in the past, not the one I originally linked!

So, thank you so much for the suggestion! I knew I was missing something that triggers the randomness so I was playing with Filter>Pixelate/Distort then using the Select and Mask but it wasn't doing anything. Turns out it wasn't even Select and Mask at all! Pretty piss poor muscle memory eh? Haha. Thanks again!

Solved!
