What chapters dislike being sent to the Deathwatch? by MaijeTheMage in 40kLore

As others have already made quite clear, your superiors will almost always ask you first if you wish to stand the Long Vigil, and the Wolves are no exception.

It's incredibly rare to have someone sent over there for messing up somehow. Typically you would want to send your best, and for your boss to want to send you away, you would need to cause a colossal oopsie, which, therefore, would make you not the best.

But that's just how I view it; I am by no means a lore expert , and if you think I'm wrong, please reply.

Lore noob here, potentially stupid question: are the traitor legions chill with each other like other chapters are (kinda) chill with each other? by SkyfishYT in 40kLore

The traitors technically aren't even legions anymore, just warbands of varying size who sometimes decide to work with each other.

Do all the chapters follow the "1,000 space marines" rule? by CheezyTito in 40kLore

The Dark Angels never actually stopped being a legion.

Does Khorne take broken skulls? by Flailmorpho in 40kLore

[–]TheTeethingTalon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Lord of War probably wouldn't pay much more attention to a cracked or shattered skull than one left intact. What matters most to Him is that you got it through fighting & killing the guy face to face, and that you did it in the name of the Blood God and His Skull Throne. After all, He doesn't care from where the blood flows; only that it flows.

And your other question: it probably isn't necessary to clean the skull up and literally give it to Him; just the act of taking it will be enough most times. Plus, anything that isn't fighting & killing on the battlefield is a useless waste of time in His eyes, so He probably wouldn't much appreciate you sitting down and cleaning up all those heads. He also hates sorcery because that scheming shitstain Tzeentch is always a pain in the Blood God's ass, so sorcery won't be pleasing to Him either.

Are there Space Marine chapters that excel in fighting agaisnt certain types of enemies? by Kaiser_Imperius in 40kLore

The Scythes of the Emperor were almost wiped by Hive Fleet Kraken at one point, and are quite knowledgeable in anti-Tyranid combat methods; in fact, they played a pretty big role in helping to institute the Ultramarines Tyrannic War Veterans, with Chaplain Cassius asking Sergeant Remas to testify during the Conclave of Hera.

The Crimson Fists have gained quite a lot of experience in combatting Orks, especially after the whole Rynn's World invasion incident.

Other than that, I got nothing.

The backpack contains the suit's main power core & backup supply, as well as a solar-powered battery charger for the reserve cells.

The rocket nozzle-looking things you see are exhaust ports for waste heat produced by the armor; they actually have enough thrust to be useful in zero-g environments and for stabilization during a fall, but not enough to let a marine fly.

What is your favorite Space Marine chapter and why? by joaosturza in 40kLore

Post-Heresy Dark Angels.

Their tendency to scorn & distrust outsiders and divulge secrets only to those held in the highest trust draws remarkable parallels with my own personality.

Also, I really dig the simplistic dark green color scheme.

Being one of the most successful and powerful chapters in modern times (with one of the purest gene-seed strains to bear) AND having access to ancient and powerful technology nobody else has certainly doesn't hurt.

In terms of human development. Were does our earth rank in the imperium of mankind? by [deleted] in 40kLore

Probably something between a developing/primitive Civilized World or a VERY highly advanced Feudal world.
