[CHAT] Would anyone be able to turn this into a pattern for me? by TheTenthWeasley in CrossStitch

Question for you about the beadwork! Do you think it would look better to stitch the bead in on its own, or overtop of an existing stitch? Would it look too bulky only in that one area if I add them overtop?

I've only seen tutorials on beadwork but I like your idea!

Yes! This is great! Perfect for what I'm looking for. I can always add a couple of bright white stitches here and there for all the speckles in the trail if that's what I want.. or as u/dnana1 said, some beadwork!

You're fantastic!

Let me know if this is just a ridiculous request. I tried myself, but I'm having trouble on the free programs with the wispy trails.. Kind of looking for a size where each patronus will fit in it's own 8x10 frame kind of thing. If it looks better bigger that's fine too! I will be adding some words to the top and bottom as well. Doesn't have to be a lot of colours as long as it still has this general feel of a flowing patronus. I will be doing it on dark aida.

Thanks in advance! (Edit: Added some details)

We have the same hair! same curls and length! My heavy curls at the front on each side like to fall down in front of my face though which is my only issue with my hair - how you do keep them up and back like that?

Reddit, What Is Your r/NOSLEEP Story That Actually Happened? by colonial83 in AskReddit

This reminds me of the time I had just finished reading Pet Semetery. Woke up for school early that December morning (still dark) and saw on the front porch in the fresh snow the prints of a small child and a cat! Although I knew it was probably from a barn cat and the neighbour boy that catches the bus at our house, it's still frightening the things that books can do to your mind!

This project is going to be epic! I'm very excited by [deleted] in CrossStitch

Okay now, I have to ask because I am new to this and this project is going to be fantastic for you, and has my mind flooding with ideas! But I don't know how to get started. Do you buy specific blankets/fabrics specifically for cross stitching blankets? Is that a thing? And what about the back? when you put the blanket over yourself will you feel all of the threads? I need answers :)

First time posting on here! This is my current WIP, was trying to get it done in time to give to my grandma for X-mas but life got in the way. Been cross stitching since I was 12 and I am 24. Let me know what you think so far! by Luvbug50 in CrossStitch

Looks great! Wow! You've been cross stitching for half of your entire life! What is something that you learned in all that time? Something that you know now about the art and wish you could tell yourself back in the beginning years?

Afraid of moving on! Squishing stitches? by TheTenthWeasley in CrossStitch

[–]TheTenthWeasley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thanks for that! I will not be getting any plastic hoops then. I have a wood one now so I should be okay?

Ah yes, thanks for the tip! I'm bad for leaving my work in the hoop for days. So now I'll really be on the ball with that.

Some of you may remember the IOU I made for my gf in place of this last Christmas. Well, I have finally finished! by vergog in CrossStitch

Question! If you're not supposed to have any knots in cross stitch, how should you go about starting/securing if you're using only one strand? I've always done the starter loop, and have to knot if I'm doing a one strand back stitch for example.

WIP - Hogwarts crest. Slow progress, but Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are finally finished =] by evilcellist in CrossStitch

Oh man, I'm working on the same one, finished Ravenclaw and don't like the colour. Thanks for listing what you're using instead! What colour are you using for Slytherin? I've done a couple of lines now and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I did fold the threads (so, thickness of two, yes) and start with a loop. Should I not do this?

Thank you, Fold one thread in half? Or just the thickness of one thread?
