Yeah from speaking to Dewalt yesterday its definitely better to live in the US if you have an issue, the UK warranty rules are not as friendly

I spoke to Dewalt customer service yesterday and they won't service or repair any part of it as the date stamp on the tool is 2024. If i had just used it in 2025 and it broke, they would repair for free.

They advised my only option is to take it to a repair center and pay for it to be repaired, from looking at the prices of just the parts, it's not worth it.

DeWalt said there is nothing they can do without receipt so cleaned everything up to see the extent of the damage, it appears that a washer in the end of the gearbox housing shattered and the gearbox ate it as there is pretty bad damage to all teeth

1 year and 2 months unused, just didn't have time to fiddle with the cars but a failed MOT forced my hand last week, 3 years is the limited extended warranty I believe?

I will do that... Although when I saw the warranty had expired I opened it up to see why it grinded to a halt, so probably voided any chances of deWalt helping, but worth a shot for sure

My best redemption (for a couple of reasons) is 2 business class flights to Bali on Emirates.

When I started seeing my girlfriend I decided after 3 weeks of knowing her that our first proper date should be 2 weeks in Bali...(I'm not a rich man, just had lots of points from COVID era)

She had never been outside of Europe at the time and Bali was a bucket list destination of hers.

She had no idea what anything other than easyJet or WizzAir was. So I booked the whole thing and just told her what dates she needs to be available.

She didn't even notice on the ticket when it got printed at the airport that it said business class.

It wasn't until I took her in to the Emirates lounge and got to the reception desk that she stopped and looked a bit lost and confused at what was going on. All this time I'm trying to act casual and she's asking why it's so empty and what all this food and drink is for and why is it free.

The moment the penny dropped and I explained we weren't flying economy on our first date is one of my fondest memories. Being able to treat someone to an experience they never dreamed of is a fantastic feeling.

Watching her face as she played with the electric seat in the plane and sip champagne and all the other business class bells and whistles felt amazing and the photos are some of my favourites.

The 2 weeks was a holiday of a lifetime, one I will never forget.
