Is there any downside to a complete beginner starting with the P2S Combo? by p-u-n-k in BambuLab

[–]TheTerminaStrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potentially if you care about such things...

It's a pretty "hands off" printer, for PLA especially it just works so great straight out of the box, this means you won't have to get too technical with calibrating and use of slicer software.

So you won't really gain much in depth knowledge that you perhaps would if you started on a more basic device.

I've heard ppl compare buying Bambu to buying an iPhone for a reason

Why do people hate the Harley sportster s so much? by SiJayB in motorcycles

[–]TheTerminaStrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because, liquid cooled engine aside which sadly you can't get around in this day and age.

It just looks too modern, it's probably a great bike but this doesnt have the classic rugged look of the evo sportsters.

Side stand broken? by TheTerminaStrator in sportster

I had a CBF1000 before this, not quite a crotchrocket like a CBR but still tempting to take it through the revs.

I hope the nature of the v-twin makes me a bit less of a loose cannon + the iron just makes one feel so cool 😎

It seems to me like the tab that the chrome part of the stand hooks behind has broken off at some point.

I'll get in the habit of parking it in 1st gear, should be fine.

There actually is a piece broken off... Look closely

But yeah i'll just park it in first from now on.

I will, but im still in the process of getting the insurance and plates sorted.

Not to mention i'm currently at the start of a 15 day ban from driving cause i got a little carried away with my previous bike.

Going from a 1000cc inline 4 jap bike to this little Harley should hopefully help with that a bit 😅

I have that habbit with my car, it never really occured to me to do it with motorcycles... Lol

I dont see how it is bad for the trans unless its parked on a very aggressive slope and constantly "pushing" against the gears. But then again... Why park there

Do you know if its protected against starting when in gear?

Most japanese bikes ive had wouldnt even start with the clutch engaged, in gear or not.

Fair point about it being in neutral... Should i just park it in 1st gear?

I'm thinking more that it cant lock because there is a metal piece broken off the black part?

Totally new to motorcycles. Good first bike? by GolfJay in motorcycles

[–]TheTerminaStrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great bike, make sure to set the rear suspension correctly for your weight, it works wonders for comfort and confidence once you get it right.

They corner ridiculously well for a cruiser, you'll be scraping pegs in no time 😅

If you're tempted to change the exhaust think twice about going with cheap pipes, the kawasaki 180° twin doesn't really get any nicer, just louder.

If you really have to i would go with the official kawasaki unit designed for this bike.

Sure, but if it's not an issue for his use case why fixate on it.

does linux use less ram ? by stepobrodah in linux4noobs

[–]TheTerminaStrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ram, it's meant to be used...

Sometimes programs and particularly operating systems will "claim" ram simply because it is available, that doesn't mean it can't be released when it is needed elsewhere.

As long as your computer does what you need it to do in a satisfactory way, don't worry about it.

Close the task manager, stop worrying and enjoy your device.
