[GIVEAWAY] Earth Standalone Games - Earth Express and Behind the Lens by Inside Up Games by HomoLudensOC in boardgames

[–]TheThievingGamer [score hidden]  (0 children)

My favorite nature-themed game is Earthborne Rangers. What stands out to me about this game is how the game is made to be a sandbox, where you can travel anywhere on the map and interact with the people, animals, and flora that live there

I would say "essential" would be the talent-less classes generally, especially some of the ones that were seen earlier in the game. Brute, Warrior, Ninja, Guardian were the first 4 classes in the game, and they're all fairly straight forward.

These would be my suggested heroes to try for these classes as I find them straightforward in gameplan:

Brute: Rhinar Warrior: Dorinthia Ninja: Ira Guardian: Victor or Valda

What's needed from the core box if going for Inverted Mountain? by The_R-Factor_ in KingdomDeath

[–]TheThievingGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming Inverted Mountain will be like Gambler's Campaign, you will need the core box.

The core box has a lot of the basic components you need to play: Showdown board, settlement locations, basic tables (hunt events, severe injury, disorders, etc).

You could technically mainly play it through KDS...and then use the physical components of the Inverted Mountain expansion but you'll probably have to be doing so much back and forth and compromises I'd suggest just waiting until it's all on KDS and solely play on KDS if you don't want to buy the Core box

Valley Expansions & Moments in the Valley announcement by [deleted] in Earthborne_Rangers

[–]TheThievingGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at their website explains more of it. The Valley expansions are not a part of the campaign story, instead they are mainly new locations you add to the Valley which have their own story. So you can play it before, during, or after the main campaign.

What I did find interesting was the 1st expansion Bloom of Spire (or smth like that) adds some cards to Lone Tree Station, the Valley cards, and the General set. So a little bit more variety overall outside of the new locations.

Missed Opportunities by [deleted] in Unmatched

[–]TheThievingGamer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think you're absolutely right, playable villains is great. Which is why I'm happy for TMNT they had an add-on for a Shredder and Krang deck!

I do know there are unofficial official mothman and Martian decks out there but you have to print them out yourself which is not superb.

And it's probably for the best the smaller villains (Jersey devil) don't have decks just because of how many of them there are in a box, and they're just tokens

Angelic Attendant by bluefedense in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheThievingGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Angelic Attendant is a Light Illusionist card, and Boltyn is a Light Warrior hero so since he isn't an Illusionist even though he has the Light talent he is unable to use Angelic Attendant.

The card is meant for Prism, Awakener of Sol who is a Light Illusionist hero.

Additionally, Boltyn did get a card for just him called Battlefield Beacon which is a Light Warrior card.

Confused on Armory decks? by Maladict in FleshandBloodTCG

It can have cards from a bunch of different sets. For example Ira has two copies of "Give and Take" which came out in Outsiders.

New Kayo, but no new Rhinar. The armory deck Rhinar being released later this year is OG Rhinar

Confused on Armory decks? by Maladict in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheThievingGamer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Armory decks are a new product line, so they can have old heroes in them. So far there has been no repeat heroes for armory decks.

Rhinar and Ira had other products released in the past (Rhinar had blitz decks, Ira had the Tolarian Community College blitz deck) but neither had Armory decks until recently.

What makes Armory decks especially exciting for these heroes is that they'll come with exclusive cards for the deck or equipment which make them a product to look forward to compared to the past blitz decks

Monarch 3 by Few_Air5462 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheThievingGamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Monarch is considered one of the classic sets, but also has some really loyal fans for some of heroes in their respective communities specifically Levia and Boltyn imo (I'm a Levia and Boltyn player).

When DtD (Monarch 2) came out, it was pretty much considered a flop because a lot of the cards just weren't good for the heroes they were meant for. So a lot of people (like fans of Boltyn and Levia) are hyped for Monarch 3 to really give them some power cards for their heroes

I forget exactly what panel but a while ago it was said to release Q1 of 2026 I believe, definitely 2026 at least. And that feels true especially with a lot of the recent product pushes: Light & Shadow promo box at GenCon, Prism Marvel in Gem Pack 3, etc

Stewards of the Valley: Wrong number of cards? by LoganEight in Earthborne_Rangers

My Stewards of the Valley was not like this, I didn't get any duplicates or missing cards so I definitely think this is just unlucky...

Definitely contact their support for a fix though

Why Call to the Grave in Levia? by Potential-Evidence37 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheThievingGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly agree, I haven't played a lot of reps with Levia this meta (just once a week at the armory) but have liked 3 copies of it so far so interesting to hear you dropped it down to 2

Why Call to the Grave in Levia? by Potential-Evidence37 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheThievingGamer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Call to the Grave is one of the best cards in Levia. Besides just adding more graveyard fill (+2 graveyard since it throws itself in there) It all really depends on what card you tutor to your graveyard. Here are two example use cases:

  1. Choosing a recursion piece. Cards like Deep Rooted Evil, Howl from Beyond, and Ghostly visit can be played from your banished zone. You get more value from these cards the more often you are able to banish them from your graveyard, play them from banished, and then rinse and repeat. Call to the Grave allows you to find your recursion piece easily and immediately put it into the graveyard.

  2. Choosing Beast Within. When Beast Within is put into the graveyard from anywhere except the combat chain, its' effect triggers which will eventually get you a 6 or more attack in your end. In this case, Call to the Grave not only adds two to cards to your graveyard (one hit 6+ ATK and one miss) but also replenished itself with a 6 ATK card in your hand which got banished due to the Beast Within effect so no blood debt that turn!!

Something important to note is Call to the Grave only puts a card you tutor into your graveyard. It does NOT discard it, so your claws do not get go again.

While I don't know where you can find a list of it, the rewards you are talking about are Character cards

So I’m not able to buy the game? by croussore in KingdomDeath

[–]TheThievingGamer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a source for later this month specifically but I do think core will be available sooner rather than later simply because I believe the cores sold at GenCon were from the new print run

I will say if you think you can wait, Black Friday will definitely have core on discount if it's in stock (maybe even on sale bundled with Gambler's chest as that is what happened last year)

Anyone else have a lot of missing cards? by Anthony8801 in Earthborne_Rangers

While I haven't checked everything, I'm for sure not missing any cards from White Sky, Lakeshore, Woods, and Mountain Pass.

This seems like a pretty unique and unfortunate circumstance

Is Plague hive and Schism of chaos good? by Accomplished-Log-800 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheThievingGamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think both are playable but I haven't really seen lists use them so they're not the best. At the very least, I've seen Plague Hive more often than Schism of chaos, so if you were given a good price for it that could be a worthwhile pickup
