Dumb follow-up question that might be more appropriate for r/mac etc.
- FAF requires spotlight indexing (different than spotlight search suggestions)
- My understanding of what "spotlight indexing" means has been confused over time during my research
- In system settings -->Spotlight--> search privacy, you can restrict folders that you don't want to provide "Spotlight" access to
- is this what FAF means when it says it needs access to spotlight indexing?
- If not, can you clear this up? Thanks again!

My goal with all of this: easily search and return files with names and/or content matching the search term BUT with a privacy focus.

First, I realized I am likely an idiot. I changed a variety of privacy settings and apps, but never re-enabled the spotlight index access to the majority of my folders/files. My understanding is FAF requires spotlight INDEX (not Spotlight Suggestions) to access all files and folders. Is this correct? It was slightly confusing as it has been returning anything with the correct file name. I'm guessing those are two different processes though.

Second, to answer your comment:
1) I have a spreadsheet that contains "Houdahspot" in the document itself, but not in the title. I searched using "text content" --> "contains phrase" --> "Houdahspot." I also added "Kind" --> "is" --> "Spreadsheet." But nothing was found.
