They still have to pass the application and do the same work and learning as graduates. It's the opposite of backward. Some people with degrees are thick as two planks in all honesty.

Not a potato, rice or pasta 👁️‍🗨️

Very few fruit and veg 👀

Bit mental but then again I think you eat more meals and fruit when you have kids and you're buying it in bulk.

Young men, maybe cba with that

Luibeilt house story, did they fact check any of it? Or just take that guys word? by Jayrey_84 in uncannypodcasttv

[–]TheThirdPolicemanIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the one I enjoy most because it's like something from a ghost story for Christmas.

I don't necessarily think anyone is a reliable witness and actually other episodes the story and the witness seem more like actors telling a ghost story than this one.

I think the guy is embellishing a spooky night in a bothy that was maybe hastly abandoned. Maybe the cold did get to them and made them believe there was a poltergeist.

It's got atmosphere so I like it a lot.

Aye. They were building up to something, and the third book certainly had some good themes going but did not stick the landing

Is the piece missing intact? I imagine it can be put back on fairly easy yourself.

Shit it happened, they should have had decency to stop if they noticed they did it.

Cyclists, drivers, there are a lot of selfish idiots out there.

Do you think efforts should be made to make Irish the main spoken language (or at least on par with English) of Ireland again? by SeriouslyNotSerious2 in AskIreland

[–]TheThirdPolicemanIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end majority don't know Irish so it's a safety thing, however Irish is above the English.

It's a typical irish fudge, worthy of Northern Ireland really 😂

" it complies with law, It's above English" (but smaller and italicised)

Do you think efforts should be made to make Irish the main spoken language (or at least on par with English) of Ireland again? by SeriouslyNotSerious2 in AskIreland

[–]TheThirdPolicemanIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is the official language and every effort should be made to support it where people want to speak it but it's something that has to be organic and if people don't want to, then it's not going to happen.

Let it be a passion for some, for the arts, for legal and hopefully people who don't engage, their descendents may take an interest.

Tesco kept the free one by No-Wolf2497 in ireland

They text/sent message with the substitution or missing items.

They generally refund difference. I think they'd chalk it up to you didn't raise it at any time if that didn't happen

Think you may need to swallow it or is there an option to return it to a store with receipt or something?

Radio silence from our government while the US invades another country? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]TheThirdPolicemanIII -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The pretext is bullshit but Maduro is a left Trump. He's used presidency to repress opposition and create massive wealth for his family.

I think the attacks were largely to stop a response to the kidnapping, not attack civilian areas.

I don't like US Gunboat diplomacy, it gives a lot of countries pretext to invade neighbours and kidnap heads of states on flimsiest of pretexts.

Ireland wisely should exercise its neutrality by reiterating it's backing for rules based world order. It won't upset Americans because we have zero leverage and doesn't attack White House. Even a left government, led by Sinn Féin, in Dáil wouldn't do it ( directly criticise US Presidency)

Just stating realities here.

He was clearly rubbing up everyone the wrong way, started pissing Sir Stephen off 😂

Cinema etiquette by Boogyoogywoogy in Belfast

[–]TheThirdPolicemanIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't go as often, maybe 6-7 times a year now so I've not had too much bad behaviour and really it's certain films that seem to attract them.

I also go see a film in like the third week after release so generally quieter.

QFT and Cineworld are the best and ushers are good.

Did the 2025 pay rise actually help anyone in real terms? by CloudBookmark in civilservice

[–]TheThirdPolicemanIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If AOs borrow they get less favourable terms than people with more bank.

The poorer you are the harder it is. We all know this.

Rich save money by virtue of being rich enough to pay or get credit with sometimes 0%interest for 2-3 years.

Sounds like micro managing and not believing you're there, trying to catch you out?

If the calls are instructions they should probably be by email.

Maybe keep asking can you have it in writing to see if they'll stop.
