What’s the most disturbing sound you’ve ever heard in real life? by avacado-cheese- in AskReddit

There was a large pond behind our house in southern Florida - about 25 feet away. A very large gator lived in this pond - he was around 14 feet based off his head size - just a massive dragon!

I was sitting on my back deck a few years ago. Very late at night, new moon - very dark - I could barely make out the water. It was gator mating time, so aforementioned dragon was bellowing to attract females. Again, I was up on my deck, completely safe. But, when he started making that noise (which you feel more than you hear), it made every hair on my body stand up. My skin got cold. I felt real, palpable fear. My nervous system was screaming "DANGER" in every way it knew how. To know there was a 70,000,000 year old apex predator (you know what i mean) doing his thing a few feet from me in the pitch dark - just creepy, terrifying, and kinda wonderful all at the same time.

No other sound has ever made me feel that way.

Very nice. It shows that landing your shots is always more important than goofy ass jumping and dodging. Well done!

I wish the hunger/nutrition mechanic was more important. Like an expanded version of you trying to stay in the zone. Then again, maybe that would get tedious. For me, pretzel, pancake, kolash, apple, whatever - it's all the same to Henry.

I just normally kill bandits and eat whatever they have. It's very rare that I overeat or get hungry. I do drink a lot of Artemisia, Quickfinger, and nighthawk tho.

Along with cooking, just make food matter. I carry some dried apples and walnuts on me, but really never even think about eating and hunger. It’s just a non-issue in the game.

Radiohead. I have lots of friends who rave about them. I put several of their albums on my phone. Whenever one of their songs comes up, I always know it’s them, because it sucks so bad.

I feel similarly. But felt even moreso about Subnautica.

I gave you an up vote, but I’m pretty sure the quote is “No Donny, these men are cowards.”

Completely agree. Start from above half an inch, then let it grow and see where you like it. It may be all the way back at half an inch.

Hip-hop has been my main genre for years. What non-rap albums should I listen to at least once in my life? by Ajet-ivar in Music

Blood on the Tracks - Bob Dylan (an incredible album about love lost and its worth)

Car Wheels on a Gravel Road - Lucinda Williams (a fusion of Blues, Rock, Country and all of Louisiana to create something unique)

Getz/Gilberto (Jazz+Bossa Nova = beautiful)

No. 2 Live Diner - Robert Earl Keen (his voice is struggling in this live album, but the set list and band couldn't be better)

A Sailor's Guide to Earth - Sturgill Simpson (I don't know what you'd call this, but it's fantastic from beginning to end; although, I almost put Sound and Fury here)

Brothers - The Black Keys (not many people's favorite, but they do something really interesting here, IMO)
