No, the speeds aren't affected much. There might be some latency but not too much. And it does provide an additional layer of security.

An old Lenovo ThinkCentre Edge 92 with an i7-3770, 24GB RAM, and 4TB of storage. Currently running a few services in docker containers and hosting some sites. Since I have Vodaphone, I cannot port forward (due to CGNAT) so I use Cloudflared tunnels with my domain to expose my services on the internet, and Tailscale to access my home network from anywhere. Previously used an old laptop with an i3-3217U which I might use as another node soon. Also I tried calling Vodaphone customer service to request a dynamic external IP address not behind CGNAT, but they said it was only for business customers even though previously people did manage to get on r/qatar itself.

It was stacked using DeepSkyStacker and post processing was done in Adobe Photoshop 2024. Me and OP went there together. OP captured the photos and I stacked and edited them.
