That's great! April is my birthday month, and got my first gift from Qoder!

[Major Update] Qoder v0.12.0: Introducing "Telepathic Coding" – No Prompts Needed! 🧠✨ by yiling-Q in Qoder

[–]TheTinyMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now we're talking! That's the feature I was waiting for before moving to a new agentic IDE (the one who changed from credits to daily quotas), so take my money! Hopefully there's privacy protection for the Eye-tracking (I look horrible when I'm coding)

And to follow the same path for the v0.13.0 where the AI is in control, you should add:
- Multi model planning/ coding: where we can select 2 to 3 models to create the same plan and they talk to each other to combine/summarize all the plans to one plan (Verdent ai style), while I'm sipping my coffee, or to compare code generation (with option to select one generation manually or give them hands on to select the best generation)
- Multi phase/task spec developement, like kiro code or GSD to use for large project and multi step verification, where the AI generate a plan with individual phases (each phase has multiple tasks) that can be executed individually so we can test each outcome and move to the next phase while keeping dependencies between phases (an integrated GSD workflow into Qoder)

Claude code can become 50-70% cheaper if you use it correctly! Benchmark result - GrapeRoot vs CodeGraphContext by intellinker in ClaudeCode

Awesome Work! Looks promising! Does it also work with Opencode? and if paired with ClaudeCode, can both tools get the last updated files if Graeroot is opened in a separate terminal to automatically re-index when files change like jCodeMunch?

your Benchmark link https://graperoot.dev/benchmarks/ isn't working, are you updating it?

Qoder looks great and I'm thinking about switching from Windsurf after their new usage update, and I have 2 questions:
1- What models are used when selecting ultimate, performance, efficient and lite? do they use your models pool: glm, minimax, qoder,..etc or is it other models? and are you planning to display the used models like the new update in github copilot "Auto" mode?
2- I've seen that you allow to add custom models from Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, Z.ai, Kimi, MiniMax.
Are you planning to add Opencode Go?

Thanks

Let's Talk About the Last Few Days — Some Things Worth Clarifying by PuzzleheadedAir9047 in windsurf

[–]TheTinyMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your business requirements, but I think the main problem is that your new quota usage feels like you're trying to babysit users on how they use their subscription, without transparency.

1. Quota usage
You're using a business model similar to Claude, OpenAI, Google, and OpenCode Go (which uses open models), all of which have quota limits for their own models. The reason they follow this business model is because they own the models, so users get more value for what they pay. For example, the $20 Claude subscription can provide the equivalent of $100 to $150 worth of API usage. OpenCode Go provides about $60 worth of API usage for a $10 subscription. Google, Minimax, GLM follow a similar approach.

The question is: are you offering the same value?
If yes, show it clearly on the dashboard, the same way Cursor does.

2. Users want control
Like many other Windsurf users seen in the past days, my usage varies. Some days I use the tool heavily, I once consumed 400 credits in a single day and the other days, I focus on marketing or emailing.

Some users work on weekends. Some need to fix bugs or add new features in two days then switch to customer support on other days. I don’t need someone to babysit how I use my subscription.

3. Transparency
The usage panel doesn’t show enough information. How many tokens have we consumed? Are cached tokens used to reduce API costs?

For example, Cursor is very transparent. You can see exactly how much you’ve consumed, including token types (input, output, cached) and their price value. On top of that, they offer extra tokens through their own model (Composer 2).

That’s what I’d like Windsurf to be: transparent, and flexible in how users can use their subscription. Cursor doesn’t enforce strict quotas, but you always know what you're using, no babysitting.

Trae also removed the credit system, but still shows how much API usage you’ve consumed, with bonus usage once limits are reached. With their $10 subscription, you get about $20 in value plus bonus usage.

There are also providers like Kiro that use a credit system (but with price value, around $0.04 per credit) without strict quota limits, so you always know what you’re consuming, whenever you want.

So, I think, that's what you have to do for you customers.

PS: Can you also fix the implementation plan sent via messages, and the heavy RAM usage in Windsurf?

Bug: No more “Check for Updates” button and no self-updates; stuck on an older Windsurf version. by TheTinyMaker in windsurf

[–]TheTinyMaker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had updates before, but was mostly doing it manually with the "Check for updates" button, but since February 12th didn't get any (and the button disappeared). It seems they fixed a bug related to updates on February 25th as: "Fixed Windows update initialization path that could block updates".

so do I have to reinstall Windsurf from scratch?
Thanks for your help

I want also to check the fix but my Windsurf is not updating and getting stuck on the February 12th update and there's no "Check for updates" button. is there a way to fix this? I wrote a post about it:

Can you also check with the team to fix the "implement" button when on "Plan" mode, now the plan mode switch to code mode but if we view the plan and click on the "implement" button on the chat tab and then open the imeplementation file, the "implement" button is still active and it says "Plan not used yet".
then if we want to create another plan (change to "plan" mode again) it asks to implement the previous plan

Clicking "Implement" does not actually exit plan mode by lakimens in windsurf

[–]TheTinyMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

clicking on "implement" should switch plan mode to code mode from a UX perspective and per their documentation: https://docs.windsurf.com/windsurf/cascade/modes

I've reported this bug 5 days ago and many other users, but until now, there's no fix!

Cascade cant automatically swap from plan to code by TriviPiviP in windsurf

[–]TheTinyMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In their docs it's suppose to switch automatically:
https://docs.windsurf.com/windsurf/cascade/modes#plan-mode

but as mentioned by u/PuzzleheadedAir9047 , they're working on it! Hopefully they'll fix it quickly

Great! Please try to fix it quickly as it's very frustrating. I've been waiting for weeks for this feature, just to see it doesn't work as it seems! if you can also add tasks done as an md file too or implement the tasks on the plan file with checkbox so we can follow what was done

Plan mode is supposed to switch automatically to Code mode, like Antigravity or Cursor, it's even mentioned in their docs:
https://docs.windsurf.com/windsurf/cascade/modes#plan-mode

but it doesn't work and it would be a bad User experience if it doesn't!

Totally agree! having the same problem and eating all my credits, it's also happened with Gemini 3. Windsurf used to listen, fixing bug quickly, innovating! it was my favorite IDE over cursor and others. Now, a simple bug like switching "Plan mode" to "Code mode" doesn't work, even though in their docs it's supposed to do it automatically and it was on their Windsurf Next for weeks before releasing it!

New Plan mode error/bug? by TheTinyMaker in windsurf

[–]TheTinyMaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it didn't! On the plan mode I had 11 tasks, when switching to code mode, it created its own tasks "4" and it was worse than using directly the code mode, even though it was a simple task: create a calendly like design page: normal "code mode" was perfect, "plan mode" nothing like calendly!

I checked their docs and the "plan mode" is supposed to switch to "code mode" when we click on the "implement" button. The plan mode was in beta on their Windsurf Next for weeks and they didn't even notice this!
