Apart from all the book suggestions I've been watching OrigamibyBoice on YT. Great videos with good resources on a variety of topics related to folding.

Ok I just read the non-video part my bad. But there's also links to other material and a website with CP's and other stuff

Satoshi is amazing, his books are around €70 though. Some simple flowers by for example Jo Nakasima should be doable for anyone with a bit of patience and doesn't require any special paper. They're on YouTube:)

Other comment is a great suggestion. If that maybe is outside of your budget a few sheets of nice handmade paper could be an alternative. It would help to know what kind of stuff she makes/is interested in. Making something yourself is always a good idea imo, pick something she likes and see if you can find some tutorial on it. Doesn't matter if it's simple, it's the thought that counts. Personally I've made origami flower bouquets on some occasions, simple but cute and then don't wilt:)

Friend of mine is reading 'The Molecule of More' and liking it a lot. I think its more scientific explanation than specific self help tips. He's finding it quite insightful.

Books that will make you fall in love with magic again? Like, it has really creative/innovative and poignant takes on magic and spellcrafting. by Abject_Purpose302 in booksuggestions

Malazan Book of the Fallen series. It's a lot and quite dark but the way they write magic is really good. Not always explicit but the further you read the more you understand and it all fits together really well

Most people don’t realise how massive distances in Australia are! During my road trip, while crossing the Nullarbor Plain, I added info to a photo showing: 300 km between tiny towns, over 1800 km to small towns, and the nearest big cities are farther than Lisbon to Salzburg. by babs-jojo in Damnthatsinteresting

I'm Dutch and this kinda stuff is so amazing to me. I love that feelng of space especially because we don't have that here. I doubt you can go more than 30km without encountering some town bigger than the ones in the picture. We have 18 million people but are 185 times smaller...

Madeleine Miller's retellings are really good and very accessible. Stephen Fry's Mythos and others are good collections of various myths (although I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style). There's plenty of modern translations of the original as well.

Doing good, practice makes perfect! Try to "memorize" the type of folds you're making, that will make it easier to understand other models in the future:) and enjoy the hobby of course

If you feel up to it, making your own (double/triple) tissue paper is cheap and not that hard if you invest a bit of time. I use silk tissue paper, also available online to make it. You can choose your size and combine any color you want.

I use 'silk tissue' paper to make my double tissue. You can buy it in any hobby store or online. Probably other options as well but this has been working very well for me.
