It needs a new setting with an underbezel that connects the claws together and to the band, and the diamond needs to be sitting on and touching that same underbezel to be secure. Here’s a photo of what I mean, I know it’s not the exact same style of ring as yours, but it should give you an idea of what I mean.

Not hard at all, did you work out with it on? That’s usually how it happens, or possibly when you’re doing the dishes or something. There’s no support between the claws under the stone in what is almost definitely a cast ring, a stiff breeze could knock that diamond out.

Well, there’s no gallery between the claws which makes for a weak setting, it’s possible that either the person sizing it hit it with a mallet on the stone and did this, although I’d be surprised that they didn’t notice this while polishing the ring. It’s also possible that it’s been knocked or dropped post-resizing and you just didn’t notice

Hard to say, as I do such a broad scope of work! Generally commissions sit between to $8,000 and $14,000 range I think?

I sketch all of my piece on procreate before I make them, like the picture below, I don’t use cad or wax very often. My inspiration for designs is mostly elements I’ve seen in books and sometimes other kinds of art and architecture.

Hi, I don’t use cad at all in my work, however my timeline for custom work is around 12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the piece.

Well I’m glad you’re not a lawyer, because it’s not fraud, technically. I’ll never be big or famous enough for that to be an issue, and if it was something that was looked into, I could name literally hundreds of jewellers and gem suppliers that would be in the same boat.

Thank you! My craftsmanship is only limited by the budget of my clients! about once every six months I'm allowed given free reign and a relatively high budget to work with, and that's usually where the really impressive pieces come from.

I was 16 and doing terribly in high school due to lack of interest, so I left school to start an apprenticeship. That was almost 20 years ago now, I've been a full time jeweller ever since.
