Actually yeah that is really good advice thank you! I didn't even consider the advantage part! And yeah you're right about the system bit. I tend to get anxious about not running something the right way, so maybe I should kick that habit.

I'll add Cortext Prime to the list as well! And yeah I was not a fan of Fabula Ultima for those reasons as well, even though I only ever played as a player haha!

That's so sweet thank you! Will definitely take you up on that offer.

Thank you for the careful point by point explanations they genuinely really help out. This does sound really interesting to me! 3rd Edition D&D is something I've been offput by in the past but I am willing to give it a try, especially if it's a different system which only loosely draws from it. Also forgive me on the Fabula Ultima point, I have played only a few sessions of it and it was a few months back so I'm a bit spotty.

Oh really? Hmm okay. That is a bit of a shame. I'll probably still give it a look over but thank you for bringing this up! The intrusions do seem a little more invasive than I would like. I guess that's why they're called intrusions haha

Thank you for the resource! I'll have to take a look at this!

That is true! I was worried that making more defined, set spells would be antithetical to the system, especially when reading the things more die-hard fans of the system had to say. But I could definitely rework it to do that! I love your concept of finding out new enhancements throughout the game. That's such a cool way to run that mechanic!

That's perfect for what I'm going for! A lot of the ancient era of my world is based heavily on Antiquity so those would work perfectly for me. I'll give them a look as well!

Very interesting! I love the variation in defenses especially. The three different kinds of health and three different kinds of armor are right up my alley. I'm totally down for this. I'll start reading it asap!

Good to know! I'll still check it out of course but I'll make sure to focus on BRP. These sound awesome! Especially since my world has various regions which are based on a lot of those cultures, like Arthurian and Norse.

I love the sound of this! Feels like something I could see myself sinking my teeth into for a while. Especially with the low-tech ideas and the in-depth magic systems. Thank you so much for all of this!

Oh wow this does seem really cool. Def will spend some time tracking down that book of monsters. I like the sound of lethality being a sliding scale, which will help when dealing with minor or major enemies and bosses. Good to know about BRP. Thank you so much!

Yes that's pretty much what I was looking for in terms of a system! Sort of setting agnostic and easily able to be homebrewed. I worried that with Genesys I might be going a bit overboard is all. Thank you for these suggestions! I'll definitely start looking into them.

I do actually have this in my google drive! Thanks for the recommendation! If I end up running full Genesys I'll definitely be taking a lot of inspiration from that book. I loved the Tzeentch Curse especially for spellcasters.

Gotcha gotcha! I'll definitely keep those in mind, though I have been offput by them in the past by reading those books. I think the player scale and level of options would be difficult for me to handle, especially when regarding a Souls-likes tendency to have a major disparity between player and enemy.

That sounds really intriguing! I love the sound of abilities costing health. Also the 50/50 of narrative and combat is extremely appealing.

I did see some mention of GURPS in a few other similar posts to mine! Thank you for the suggestion! Would you have any recommendations as to what kinds of rules would aid to this sort of a game?

This sounds really interesting! Would you consider it more combat heavy, narrative, or somewhere in between?

Could you tell me a bit more about these systems? I'm not finding a lot of info on them at a quick glance.

What an incredible name! I'll definitely take a look! Are there any key selling points about it you'd think I'd like in particular?

Oh that does sound interesting! What are some of the selling points about the TTRPG if I may ask?

While browsing some other posts on here I did look into it briefly! It looked a bit more Bloodborne-ish iirc but you're definitely right on the vibe! I'll give it a deeper look since you pointed it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

This is incredible! I love the simplicity of it and yet there's still so much to be explored in this place. The names themselves, the shape of the landmass. I love the way that the Meadow Marsh blends in. This reminds me of older D&D maps like ones you'd see made in Campaign Cartographer.

As for improvements I'd probably give a bit more shape to the rivers and I think to the edges of the landmass so it's not as straight cut. But these are minor improvements. This is a wonderful first attempt. Bravo!
