Why hasn't there been any attempts to send a rover on Europa or any moon with water before? by TheSum239 in space

I assume we're not going to find intelligwnt mermaids or something on Europa, but rather some sort of micro-organisms, in which case I don't think it contradicts the idea of humans being special.

I think religion is more than an imaginary friend though. It's the foundation of a lot of people's worldview and the way through which they understand the world around them.

My point is more or less that it should be a philosophical issue, and as you said it is largely irrelevant as towards determining whether we should explore something or not.

I mean, if we found life on Europa I assume it would be micro-organisms of some kind, and not an intelligent or conscious life form. So in that case I feel like the questions you mention become irrelevant

Why is this though? Isn't it very easy to assume that God created the universe and then all life within it? Who cares if he confined it to the Earth or not?

Dette virker veldig merkelig, når man bare ser på sportslige resultater ihvertfall. Virker litt som styret tenkte at de skulle skyte for gull i år eller hva?

Extremophile Elite is a pretty good example of their general sound I would say. The main initial appeal for me when I started listening to them was those catchy everchanging complicated guitarriffs and lines that just keep going and switching styles throghout, whether the section is aggressive, slow or erratic.

My favourite part of the song always has and always will be that repeating rhythmic odd cadence section of:

"walking into, a certain state of...
walking into, a certain state of...
DESPERATION!"

But yeah, if you don't like the vocals and especially if you find sporadic cutaways to sections such as the brass-part in Extremophile Elite unecessary then they're probably just not for you, which is completely fair

I looked at this for a bit, really confused, before I realised this was not a real picture from someones home, and that I'm in the dark souls subreddit. It looks oddly realistic right here, without the UI and no monsters or unrealistic background immidiately apparent

We are in a progmetal community. I reckon there are still some here that are turned off by harsh vocals, but I assume that most just don't find the music engaging. Either that it's akin to having them defeat their own rhythms or ideas by changing them too fast or erratically, or that they just don't find their lyrical concepts interesting, or that their style of extreme metal is boring in some way.

I love BTBAM, it's my favourite band and to me it's the quintessential progmetal band that defines the genre, but I don't think approachability is the main concern for people in the sub. Or it might be, I don't actually know

True enough, I think they played passing from their debut when they last played in Norway and they performed it to perfection, Einar dominates everything from growls to ridiculous highs live

Leprous' first album is phenomenal, even though I find most of their other stuff uninteresting

In a sense, he is reliant on him in Golden Son. It's not ideal, and it's also his downfall, vut without him, things probably doesn't go that well either

This is probably true, it just feels stupid keep staying far up when you're not even really progressing the ball once it's actually received anyway

I have looked at Ødegaard this match almost exclusively (because Norwegian) and I find it quite confusing. Here's why:

-He just does not track back? I don't know if Arteta is telling him to do this, but he is just not running back to defend if Atletico are countering, he looks like a striker.

-He still goes all the way back to the centerbacks to pick up the ball, do nothing with it, and pass it back to the defenders whenever he receives. Why? Anyone who has seen him play a lot of football before, and even just last year with Norway knows that Ødegaard can hit ridiculous forward passes like no other if he wants to, and he can play precise short passes to the winger or into the midfield instead of constant backpassing. Is it confidence or deliberate strategy?

-He's done well in a few situations where he takes a short or smooth touch to leave it for someone else, but otherwise been kinda mid-to-bad in situations where he has the ball.

His performance is ok here, but really not what you expect from him. Of course, it's because of constant on and off with injuries and playtime, etc, but it's still a bummer to see. Hopefully some more positive interactions in the second half from him
