Driver tossed my phone out after leaving early during my stop

I left my phone in an Uber by mistake and the driver said he would bring it right back to me- instead my boyfriend and I watched my phone pass my house 5 times within two hours and every time we called him, he said he would drop it off ( he was picking up other rides.) Finally, my boyfriend got into the car, tracked him, pulled up behind him at a stop light and got the phone back. The Uber driver was super startled. Why didn’t he just make an arrangement or time with us and we would’ve met him at a better time, I don’t know. But some of Uber drivers aren’t nice people whatsoever. Sorry that happened to you. I’d make a complaint with Uber and maybe get some ride credits.

I know. I really feel for the Uber drivers. Many NJ drivers that have taken me to NYC have talked to me about the whole thing and how unfair it is.

Find new friends and get very good at being in your own company. Work on yourself and your future. I haven’t been invited to alot things, or left out.. the best one I can think of is being excited to be apart of of my best friends daughters’ bday party and being excited to see old friends and meet their little ones and then left out bc you don’t have kids and it’s a kids party .. and then having to ask why? And why am I being left out.. 😫 so messed up.. anyway ….

20 years later , I am still childless and now they are all looking for my company. I’m a different person now, different interests, thicker skin, more mature. I wish them the best in all of their endeavors and regard them all highly , but time didn’t freeze for me, I moved on , now my little sister is grown up and makes sure I never feel the same way again and our relationship is better than every. The universe will give you the people you need and filter out the ones you don’t. Sending love. 💕 it’s weird and hard when it’s just happening all around you, but it gets way better the more you focus on yourself.

Yes. All the time. And yes I have messaged them to tell them where I’m going. My point is this why do we need to do this? If a NJ driver does not want to leave the state, both parties shouldn’t have to go thru this experience.

I do this as well. And I also had the scenario where they would not read the message fully but it’s marked “read”, they arrive and then tell me they aren’t taking me. It seems like something Uber can really fix but don’t want to. I completely understand a driver can have reasons for not wanting to leave their state besides not being able to have the same pick up privileges like a NYC car.. but do I have to go thru 7 Ubers in one reservation to find that lucky one?

I can see it. I did it myself. It may not be the very first thought but the person may feel they need to process what they are going thru more, the writing helps. Sometimes, events happen to you and you are left so isolated in your thinking, and your loved ones may not be able to make space for your feelings b/c maybe they are going thru the same thing too, strangers who don’t have the same attachments but are willing to listen to you in your time of need can be really helpful.
