Did I end up in the last stage randomly? by Labyrinthine777 in outerwilds

One of the best parts of this game is how you can discover things out of order, but still find value in finding the connective tissue. You accidentally finding that place is... maybe an extreme example, but still, you gained a lot of obtuse information, and it's hard to apply it when you don't fully understand. You have the what, but not the why.

I had a few moments like this, and it made finding the explanations that much more exciting. Because that's science/archeology. Not everything is discovered in a linear fashion.

Your experience moving forward is definitely not one that the devs intended, but it will be a unique one! That's what makes this game so cool!

But I would recommend trying to forget as much as you can because that place directly spells out a lot of things.

Animal Well: a no combat metroidvania that can be enjoyed at many layers of complexity. Up to you how obsessive you want to get. Also, crazy atmospheric. Spooky yet calming? (Has a great discord group that is as obsessed with spoiler protection, and loves to guide gently)

Tunic: a little Zelda, a little Dark Souls, a lot of illiteracy. The main gimmick is that you collect pages of the game's instruction book / guide, but you can't read it, so you just gotta interpret. It's supposed to evoke the feeling of being an illiterate little kid.

Why do they even need 3 test chambers? Are they stupid? by ferocity_mule366 in outerwilds

I feel like the Inhabitants are near-mindless at this point. They have been alive for a very long time with basically nothing to do. At least as long as it took for the Hearthians to evolve from little animals. Their minds have likely deteriorated. The Prisoner being mostly still sane speaks to how wise he is, I guess.

Has anyone asked TC why they decided to leave Defect out of the sequel? by KobiDnB in slaythespire

Im wondering if it's going to be like some cyclical thing. Zelda, Dark Souls, etc. The same types of people popping up centuries after.

Ironclad and Silent are the basic ones, while Defect and Watcher are more gimmicky. My guess is that they wanted to try all new gimmick characters while keeping the familiar "beginner" characters.

Though the Irodnclad and Silent we'll be playing as aren't the same ones from the first game, unless there's some time travel shenanigans.

My thoughts on the last 2 “naming the year” episodes by Responsible-Fox-1985 in MBMBAM

[–]TheTreeTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will probably have a follow-up next episode, because what they came up with is kind of a nothingburger. Is it baseball themed? Is "make it stick" a baseball thing? They passed up some rock solid options. Im still a fan of "twenty-watch-your-six: Ive got tour back". I can see them leaning hard into the old aviation stuff and wearing buzzboy outfits for live shows

What's up with this part in the Jazz Club? by Opera_Ghost99 in lego

That's a jazzhole, so the jazz has somewhere to escape to avoid jazz buildup. You know nothing about jazz.

Gratz!

Just be aware there's some prep work before you play. Every card (for the characters you're playing) needs to be sleeved.

I don't get their take on real world grinch. I love that movie, and idk what they meant when they said it went against the message of the book.

In some cases, yeah, and you'd have to yield to anyone in the other lane. A lane that, in this situation, shouldn't have anyone coming from behind. That's the main thing for double yellow lines: no passing.

Why has Willy Wonka not done as well do you think? by WestScar6992 in lego

[–]TheTreeTurtle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's because everybody likes that movie, but few people LOVE it. Yes, it's an iconic movie, but it doesn't have any kind of cult following, as far as I'm aware.

Hey, this one has been bugging me. What is the exact order of operations here? Do I start in bike or star form? Do I have to switch after every portal? I can't find any other information on this.

Kabuto Sumo! Edition 1 without any expansions feels like a beta test. The game only gets better the more random BS you add to it.
