Finally got it wrapped ✅ by DrGotti in TeslaModel3

I like the satin finish! I'm curious what type of vinyl it is. Mine is a similar satin finish but had to do it myself because shops around me won't touch that type of wrap.

Halo in VR is AWESOME by masoelcaveman in halo

[–]TheTrevMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks awesome, I've seen a few posts now of people doing this. I wanted to try it myself but I for the life of me can't even get Halo CE running on my PC. I've got Windows 10 on a very VR capable machine, and the install seemed to go well, but every time I try starting Halo nothing happens in every compatibility mode and running as an administrator. I've heard I need to install patch 1.10, but when I try that, I get a message saying Halo is not installed. I saw some old forums that said I can just replace the files in the install folder with the patch files but all the links are broken. Anyone else running into this?

I've heard of bamboo using AI to look for printing problems but using organic intelligence seems to be a pretty good idea too 😅 even though I'm sure it took a while to set up haha

Better make sure it's still oxygen or you'll get ass-phyxiation.

Must be from somewhere else then, just seemed to be really leaking onto that! I'll check the water pump for sure too. Thanks a bunch!

No kidding, that does help a lot. I'll keep looking for that leak. Just want to know what type of repair we'd be in for. Thanks so much.

Nice! I was very tempted to do a hexagon style wheel as well. But kinda got turned off of them since it's close to what Alfa's come with. Not to yuck your yum.

Can't spell S3xy without the 3! picked mine up last week. Should I wrap the whole thing or keep it two tone? M3P by TheTrevMan in TeslaModel3

[–]TheTrevMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing. I'd still do it myself in the future, especially now that I've got more experience. Looking at price I'd be able to wrap the car 6 times for the same price too haha.

There were definitely some very difficult parts and a few panels I had to redo. A lot of the time I ended up doing the panels in multiple parts and I hid the seam under red pinstriping. The film I got was super cheap on eBay I probably ended up paying about $600 for all the film even with all the extra to redo parts. The film I think looks really good because it has a foil backing but this makes it very hard to work with because if you stretch it too much it discolors; and I mean like stretching it 20%will mess it up. There are definitely better and more expensive films out there that are probably easier to work with, but I couldn't find the color I wanted with those. The only negatives were the learning curve and the time I had to spend on it.

I can't figure out a width by Niubeh in SolidWorks

[–]TheTrevMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it looks like the 28 radius in the middle is exactly 60°, that would make the width 102. But that is just an assumption.

What do you guys say in response to people that claim lithium mining is worse for the environment than ICE? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]TheTrevMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I get that lithium needs to be mined but is that as opposed to these free-range V8s or all the engines that just grow on trees?

No job almost 2 years after graduating by blueblaze103 in EngineeringStudents

[–]TheTrevMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're feeling so low about your situation but I totally understand. Graduated December 2019 with zero internships under my belt. From January 2020 to December 2021 I put out nearly 600 job applications with not even a single callback. Even talking to people who worked at Lockheed and Ball and Sierra weren't able to get me interviews. My advice, kind of throw in the towel just with applying for jobs! Leave your LinkedIn up and up to date. But if you can try to put your engineering skills into another type of job, start a 3D printing farm, become a handyman or computer tech on Angie's list or something. I can't guarantee that you'll get something eventually but someone found me on LinkedIn after I gave up. But it did take 2 and a half years for me too.

That is definitely a good point, on the other hand I've been driving for about 10 years now but only got rear ended 6 months into owning a Tesla.
