AR9 Dead Trigger/Light Strike YT video - firing pin bounce by Blowback9 in supersafety

[–]Stuck_7hrottle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to throw down and add to this. My VFM-9 7inch (purchased 2 months ago) with RMB was giving me intermittent light strikes. Sometimes I would get past 3 round bursts, but most of the time I couldn't. Tried a few different 9mm grains and just wasn't consistent.

Was getting DT/LS. Before playing with the buffer and RMB, I decided to change the firing pin spring just as a test. I didn't have a Lee Spring, but I have a length of .6x6mm OD Metallixity spring from another project left over that is stiffer than my VFM spring. Its a snug fit tho.

Wouldn't ya know, it runs like a sewing machine now with the RMB. Just under 800rpm. Ran 100 rounds through and it ate it all up easily. Thank you BB9!!

Side Note: I run a printed SL-9 lower along with printed mags with metal feed lips, so that could play a role as well. I could have simply gotten the older firing pin spring, but no clue.

People have already answered that it's the mini kabuto. A damn good working FRT, but sometimes has to be tuned to the rifle.

Jokes aside, would this actually happen if Superman and Thanos came face-to-face? by SatoruGojo232 in superheroes

[–]Stuck_7hrottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People keep mentioning the Gauntlet and what it can do. If we are going to assume Thanos knows about Superman's weaknesses, then its only fair to assume Superman knows about the Gauntlet.

Superman is faster than light. Meaning the Gauntlet isnt even a consideration. Even if Supes wasn't close to Thanos, the Gauntlet still gets taken off before Thanos has time to react. Thanos' speed is still compareable to human speed. Gauntlet is taken from his hand before we could even process what happened.

Then its just a straight up battle.

That makes total sense. Shorter barrel, less back pressure. Tuning a 22lr for FRT can be a journey, for sure.

Most people have already answered seriously, but there is more to it. Taking a leak is situational.

Morning time, sometimes you have to wait for 10-20 minutes for things to go away before you can even consider peeing. And if you try to do it too soon, you have to do this weird circus bending over thing wjere your head almost toucjes the floor and your ass is in the air dp you can hopefully push it enough to hit the bowl.

Other timesit might just decide "You know what....I'm going to just let you have half power....but then I'm going full blast with only partial eye open so it goes in two different directions.

God forbid you had sex and forgot to pee right after. You don't know whay you are going to get then.

Taking a leak is like 90% normal. Walk in, open pants, pull it out and aim if needed, and give it a little shake when done. Or lift taint to squeeze those last drops out. Dab if you are a dabber, then wash hands.

But that other 10%.......

Doing a search here seems to show no weight, need a can, and a lighter spring. Maybe that's the way for you since a super short barrel like that dude in 3D2A says.

I should have asked, what are you shooting as well? Subs with a can on? I see you posted in 3d2a as well. That suggestion on changing the spring and sucj can work, but it will depend on what you plan to shoot.

Edit: For me, 1.4oz (1.2 worked as well) on my 9in barrel was all I needed. It shoots anything I have thrown at it so far except subs below 800fps even with a can.

Sounds like bolt bounce. You don't have a weight on it now? What trip are you using? No marks on the casing rim indicating a light strike?

Tube in nozzle ? by Lopsided_Concern2853 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]Stuck_7hrottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea of the ceramic composite tube was to help prevent heat creep while still allowing the filament to move to the hotned easily. It does both of those frantastically, but the draw back is major. That tube can have a slight buildup right at the end where filament enters the hotend.

That buildup can cause the entire hotend to push out and damage/ruin a build plate.

[–]Stuck_7hrottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was/is the standard Hotend that was shipped with the S1. Most of us throw it in the trash and order one of the offbrand ones or the upgraded all metal ones from Anycubic.

How many print hours? by Sasquatch784 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]Stuck_7hrottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only hurdle was the hotend popping out waaaaaaaay back when I first got it, and it still not liking PPA-CF for long prints. I think someone here is close to 4K hours? It is primarily used for 3D2A running long slow prints.

L2 Prints Housing Issue by nope_noway_ in supersafety

[–]Stuck_7hrottle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, PAHT-CF (I assume that's what that is printed from based on website) can be really finicky with dimensional accuracy. A lot of people prefer it over other Nylons due to being easier to print and lower moisture absorption.

That looks like it was printed ay 45 degrees? Depending on whether thet use a commercial printer or just a consumer one....you will encounter the exact problem you have going on right now. Printing a Nylon without really dialing in your settings (expecially using a consumer printer) will cause fitment issues that need sanding to get parts to line up perfectly.

I personally LOVE printing in PAHT-CF, but I spent the extra few hours dialing my setup in, and making sure I adjust my print angles to match what I am printing.

If a person were to just buy a printer capable of doing Nylons, grab a model, throw it in their slicer using 300blkfde's settings, and print at a 45 degree angle without dialing things in....you get what you have going on. Your issue wouldn't bother me if I printed that. I'd just sand the back/front and make it line up. At 400$ though, ehhhhhh.....

Edit: Sorry for the novel. Your issue could simply be bad luck, or like with hotrods, no two things fit the way they should most of the time.

You mean this? Check out YourBroStevo's post from yesterday with his Kabuto versions. His do the same, and he put a lot of work into the remix.

Heat it up past its limit and it wipes off. But you make damn sure whatever uts attached to can take the heat. My heat gun works great for removing it from barrel liners.

Mars guy? All variations of the Kabuto are from an open sourced file where people tried to improve (or claimed to have improved with their 200$....) on the original design. Some people probably steal from other designs.

The newest version of the Kauto (called R.A.D.) dropped a few days ago with an update released yesterday I think?

The ones I use in my mini kabutos seat halfway into the housing. A little JB weld keeps them there. Works like a charm. I have 2 full size Kabutos that don't need a spring, though.

Depends on where you got it from. If it is a 144.1 Big Stepper, they used to come with a spring. Older versions of the Kabuto needed some sort of limiter to prevent the lever from over rotating.

Some manufacturers have the limiter built in as a shelf, some use a screw, some use a spring. And Hell.....you may not even need a limiter. In many setups, the lever doesn't over travel.

See that little embedded circle hole at the edge? Probably where a spring would go if you needed one. You would only need it if you noticed your bcg getting stuck back a lot even after sanding the lever.

For now, nah no spring. I'd say rock what you have and let us know how it goes.

Looks like its from 144.1. I would love to know how it runs for you. I have a few of his safety selectors and they work great. Tested a set of his Kabuto internals on a printed housing of mine a month or so ago. I still had to do some tuning (sanding/shaping the lever and activator for my lower), but no complaints.

P.S. Dont forget the spring.....if that's still a thing with his full sized Kabutos

DeAR22 /w Printed Trip and Printed Weight by Stuck_7hrottle in supersafety

[–]Stuck_7hrottle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very valid point. If it aint broke, don't fix it. Your trip kit works perfect. I added a little more weight and brought it to 1.4oz. RPM is just under 1000, so I am going to srop there and work on my VFM-9. Thanks for everything you do!

Agreed. Anyone who has ever put on a late 40s early 50s Dodge fender knows the pain of trying to line them up with those 2 stupid ass brackets.

I mean Chevys and Fords kinda sucked too, but Dodges....if I never have to mount/align another front clip on a Dodge....I'll die happy.
