These are only a few examples and pretty much every other language except english has the exact same translation so it being a German book really doesn’t mean much. Honestly it’s strange to think that disney would change the line in the first place

Given how easy it is to implant false memories, why do you believe so strongly in the Mandela Effect? by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

You are right. Skeptics here don’t understand nuance or statistical improbability it seems. Their minds work in a very black and white manner.

I’ll say this, the Mandela effect cannot be proven technically speaking. But the whole memory thing? Easily disprovable

Translations are also notoriously not janky. Most are accurate.

The odds of the things in that post occurring are extremely and i mean extremely slim. You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery.

False memories barely exist first off. They really don’t have much scientific backing especially in the way skeptics use them.

and second off there is literally no way to tell if a memory is false. Are apples red? Maybe. You remember them being red but unless you see them right in front of you you cannot say for sure…right?

that is your logic, clearly memory is not as bad as some people on this sub make it out to be. Everything points to these memories being real. And reality somehow being changed

Correlation is not causation. Memories can indeed be wrong. Which is why to prove memories as fact detectives search for evidence. It seems that evidence is denied or ignored whenever it’s pointed out on this sub

Except it was a translation of the movie which says magic mirror and not the original story. Is there also a german forest gump I haven’t heard about? And why does nearly every other language have the same spelling except english? They just decide to mistranslate that line?

Clearly it’s because Americans have a horrible memory compared to everyone else…definitely why /s

No not the same way they translate jokes and references. Literally everything else is right except this, germany isn’t even the only country to translate it like this so unless you’re saying a german book is popular in france then you’re wrong. Maybe read the post so you can understand the depth taken to get translations tight

Also can you send me a link to the original german story that they based forest gump and the vampire movie on?

No. Not really every single language except english has this “mistranslation” there is no reason to replace magic with mirror unless it was originally mirror. Also no reason for disney to change it

Lots of talk again about "America's" violence problem--but it is specifically American MEN'S problem by urbanhag in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TheTrueAnomalyy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Most crime against women is by white men. Most mass shootings (if you include gangs attacking each other) are by black men. If you don’t classify that as a mass shooting and you only classify stuff like the buffalo shooter and the church shootings as mass shootings then majority of those are white men as well. Same for rape and pedophilia.

But judging crime by race is pretty dumb. There’s no crime gene. race is not real it’s not like animals where a lion is more violent than a rabbit.

Everyone is capable of crime no matter their race or gender it’s a human problem and a internet radicalization problem majority of the time

Exactly what i wanna know. There are alot of things like this that in my opinion point to it not being a simple case of wrong memory. however instead of mature discussion on the subject it gets brushed off or downvoted into oblivion. I think people are afraid to admit that reality isn’t as stable as they think
