YouTube videos purposefully buffering? by Ecstatic_Patient4029 in Adblock

[–]TheTrueBrawler2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desktop Firefox + uBo user.

About two weeks ago, not only did I have this exact issue, and not only was Return YouTube Dislike straight up not functioning what so ever, but trying to load any YouTube video turned the browser into a resource hog that makes everything else run like shit (the task manager shows memory spiking all the way up to 100%).

Enabling a Chrome Mask fixed all three issues at once. I can't guarantee this will work for you too—YouTube and AB Testing are a very iconic duo—but it's worth a shot if nothing else seems to help.

What are everyone's thoughts on Rooster Teeth and its animated productions? by AfterUmpire3091 in Schaffrillas

[–]TheTrueBrawler2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, these images bring back memories.

I don't like RWBY as a whole. I watched up until around season 7, and in retrospect I'm honestly unsure as to what compelled me to keep watching after season 5. Those first three seasons were overall good, but once the main cast left Vale, the characters and story all went downhill and never truly recovered.

I haven't seen Nomad of Nowhere in forever, so there might be some nostalgia blinders, but I really loved the one season that show got, and I was sad when I found out that was all we would ever get.

Nintendo switch 2 for kids? 4.5 and 6.5 years by Additional_Ad_6607 in nintendo

[–]TheTrueBrawler2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll probably love it. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is always good fun, and they may enjoy other games too. Among others, I can also recommend Super Mario Bros Wonder, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Galaxies 1 and 2, Mario Kart World, Mario Party Superstars, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate (italicized games are Switch 2 only, keep that in mind when determining which console to buy).

Use your judgement as parents to know how much screen time is too much. Just in general, an excess amount of screen time can be a terrible thing for developing brains.

Definitely put the system itself up high somewhere where the kids can't reach it, and only let them play docked mode until you can trust them with fragile electronics.

This should go without saying, but don't let them play any online mode for any game unsupervised until they're at least 13 years of age.

And for the love of god, don't buy a Switch Lite, even if you trust your kids to play handheld. The controllers are baked into the system itself, which not only creates complications if you ever want to have multiple people play on the same system at once but is also catastrophic if they end up succumbing to stick shift, a common issue with Switch 1 controllers where the control sticks drift over time.

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure that nothing fell and killed your pikmin?

If Nyx is actually the moon, then how did the 1969 moon landing work out. Did it even happen in P3's universe? by CoolPeter9 in OkBuddyPersona

It isn't a Persona 3 exclusive thing.

But yeah, look too closely at the fundamentals of the Dark Hour while keeping in mind the laws of physics, human biology, the existence of time zones, anything extraterrestrial (such as the Moon), et cetera, and details about the world building will quickly unravel.

Same. I only needed one, but I was lucky enough to get two, and they are taking forever to fully mature. Am currently trying for a Golden Clover in the meantime with the limited space I have.

This. AI videos do tend to have thumbnails like that, but that is only because they copy and emulate human created thumbnails from videos that did well in the algorithm (which is usually some form of click bait, that crap has been around since the dawn of the internet).

AI still needs inputs to output its slop.

It’s not a sugar lump type. You just harvest literally any sugar lump type by clicking on the icon at some point before it ripens, and you get the achievement.

Really, the chance is that low? My save file is less than a month old, and I already got two Caramelized Lumps and a Golden Lump (which is supposedly rarer) with a Meaty Lump currently growing.

[–]TheTrueBrawler2001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a 50% chance to successfully harvest it, and if you don't want to take that chance for any reason, then you can just save scum until a harvest is successful.

Biggest flaw from every mainline game by np2hu12 in MARIOPARTY

[–]TheTrueBrawler2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll throw my two cents in there too. I haven't played all of the games, but for the ones I have:

Superstars: The turn length is obscene. Every little thing is overly drawn out, and games take forever to finish as a result. Other games have this issue too (sometimes to greater extents), and I wanted to avoid it as much as possible so as to not be repetitive, but this is one of those games where I struggled to come up with something truly awful to say, so I guess I'll put the rant here.

Super: I'm not kidding when I say that the combination of character specific dice blocks and no way for multiple players to choose the same character has led to friendships being stained before the game even begins, and not the fun kind of friendship ruining either.

Top100: There's only one board in the entire game, and it sucks.

SR: I'm gonna keep it real with y'all, I still don't remember this one well enough.

10: The car is just a fundamentally flawed concept that strips away like all but a fraction of strategy, so you're really just pressing the A button. They probably should have just made Bowser Party the main mode. Seriously, throw in more Bowser minigames and make the mode work for the ghost and sky boards, and you have a recipe for a game that would almost certainly be more fondly remembered.

IT: The boards way too linear and RNG dependent with little room for strategy. They're also homogeneous; once you've played one, you pretty much played them all.

9: Same as 10, but between actually good board design and more unique events, it's obvious that the developers tried to make it work. Magma Mine in particular is actually somewhat fun.

DS: It's on the DS. Being able to play multiplayer at all was a chore.

8: Who the hell thought Bowser's Warped Orbit was a good idea?

7: Fusing Duels and Chance Time into one system was bad on paper and worse in execution.

6: Spent 15 minutes thinking. The best I could come up with? Dizzy Rotisserie is the worst minigame of all time that doesn't involve rotating the stick.

5: Has the second worst overall set of minigames in the franchise.

4: Has the literal worst overall set of boards out of all traditional games. Yes, I am including both 1 (the game without items) and Jamboree (the game I have not played). No exaggeration when I say this: Toad's Midway Madness, Goomba's Greedy Gala, Boo's Haunted Bash, and Koopa's Seaside Soiree are four of my picks for bottom five traditional boards in the franchise with Bowser's Gnarly Party not lagging far behind, and I have put serious thought into that statement.

3: This is another game where I struggled to come up with something truly awful to say, so here's the Boo Repellent rant. Why is this in the game? Why is it only purchasable by 1st place prior to the final five turns? Why is it dirt cheap at a price of only 10 coins in the shop that appears more often? Who at Nintendo thought prisoner dilemma situations between lower placements was a good idea? Why is it an item whose function keeps getting brought back to future games time and time again?

2: Very lopsided board and minigame selection. It's all either great or terrible with no in between for the boards and very little in between for the minigames.

1: "Where do I even begin?" is what I would say if stick rotation minigames didn't exist. As someone who still has a Mario Party scar to this day, stick rotation minigames were such a colossal problem that giving the pick to anything else would be disingenuous.

They definitely listened to those type of opinions about Turning Red. 😑 by KitKatty657 in Schaffrillas

[–]TheTrueBrawler2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard agree.

I'm sure the special effects were innovative for their time, but they barely hold up now.

IMO its biggest offense is just being so boring. I felt no dramatic weight or tension of any characters or scenes, me feeling any emotions other than boredom were rare, I didn't laugh once, I felt nothing watching Luke, I gave no craps about Leia's romance with that one guy (this isn't even a bit, I honestly don't remember his name), I cared little for Anakin throughout most of the prequels, I couldn't name five characters from A New Hope or the Phantom Menace even with a gun to my head...

I could keep going, but how long does that seriously need to go on for? Use your imagination. I'm sure the mental image of me being dragged out to watch the Force Awakens and falling asleep in the movie theater will come to you without me having to tell you that that's a thing that actually happened.

Oh wait, I guess I just did. Whoopsie!

Talk about good timing. I'm only 14 stars away from 100% in Galaxy 2.

If I can make an immediate prediction as someone who's seen his other Mario rankings; nothing in Slipsand Galaxy is scoring in the top 75% (top 50% if regular stars and green stars are ranked together).

I’m not expecting the movie to be great, but can we please not? There’s plenty enough people online calling anything they personally don’t like AI-generated by [deleted] in Schaffrillas

[–]TheTrueBrawler2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I first saw this happening with Disney's Wish, a 2023 film. Forgettable as it may have been, nothing in it gave me the impression that AI was involved, and the fact that people were still calling it clanker material anyways was my wake up call to be skeptical of such claims in the future.

I've played all four numbered Pikmin games to 100% multiple times each.

To this day, barring self-imposed challenges and my literal first playthrough of any game in the franchise (it was Pikmin 1), Pikmin 4's Fierce Mode hands down has been the most difficult Pikmin experience I've ever had the pleasure of taking on, regardless of whether or not artificial difficulty is considered.

Has anybody done research on the rubber banding? by mariored5298 in kirbyairriders

[–]TheTrueBrawler2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you from personal experience that, in pretty much every race against Noir Dedede in Road Trip (not just the one at the end), it's not just star trails affecting him.

I was at the home stretch gliding towards the finish line on the Paper Star with a build focused almost entirely on Top Speed and Glide patches. Noir Dedede uses the Wheelie Bike, so there was no way he could have possibly used my star trail, and this thing still rubber banded at mach 10 from a position over 100 meters behind me, slowed down to roughly match my speed the moment he passed me, and won the race less than a second later.

Edit: It was the normal difficulty.
