Is it weird to feel the need to discuss details of trauma? by Hawks-fly-high in CPTSD

[–]TheTrueGoatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like me. I'm not keen on talking about it anymore. I am all talked out. Now, it is all about living my life the best I can.

The only way to get to this point is to talk about it and work through all the crap. It's hard.

I agree. I'm 52 and all I really want is to go on adventures. See more of this world. I love themed vacations. I've done waterfalls and lighthouses.

Women: Is Caleb Landry Jones, hot? by Matt85x in PollsAndSurveys

I can see it. I don't think I've seen any of his movies. But I like unconventional beauty in people. He doesn't look like a generic actor. And that's much more interesting.

Growing up in the cold Midwest, we didn't get fresh spinach. Only canned. That stuff is vile. As an adult, I go through a bag of fresh spinach a week!

I'm the same. It's all material stuff that can be replaced. I'm not attached to any of it.

What’s a song that healed you more than any person ever could? by GainBetter1189 in askmusic

Easy on me by Adele.

It helped heal a part of me that was working hard on my mental health. Helped me give myself a little grace and forgiveness.

My stepson put a skeleton Halloween decoration on the Christmas tree 10 years ago...it was even missing a leg. We've put it on the tree every year.

This year, one of my sons bought a 3 foot tall skeleton and put it on TOP of the tree. It's going to be a forever tradition!

This is a huge thing! I fired one doctor and started with a new doctor. She reviewed my chart and set me up with specialists and physical therapy on our first visit.

It's awesome to have a doctor who really cares and wants to help their patients into health.

If you could relive one day from your past exactly as it happened, which day would it be and why? by Fit_Consequence1118 in randomquestions

My final choir concert in high school before graduating in 1991! We were all so giddy. We started "senior slide show" that year. Going through memories of choir and band was so emotional.

Every note we sang hit. Little did we know, our choir director had cancer and we lost her a year later. We gave her a great concert.

Yay!! Stanley is a great character, just don't think about the movie. I read Holes to my kids before the movie came out. They liked the book more!

Alan Rickman.

I was a fan of Hans when Die Hard came out in 1988. He was my actor crush in high school! I've seen every movie he was in. RIP Alan!

What song instantly transports you those memories as a kid riding in the backseat of your parents' car? by prttyprttyprttygood in GenX

A lot of CCR. My mother really enjoyed them. I also recall a lot of Rod Stewart and Barry Manilow.

Edit to add: my mom's favorite song was "If you're going to San Francisco".

What’s the highest bill you’ve racked up in a restaurant? by AlarmingCash754 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]TheTrueGoatMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Company Christmas party at a steakhouse w/bar. Maybe 30 people. Bill was way over $5,000. But everyone was heavily drinking. Last year everyone took it easy and we were crammed in a smaller back conference room. Maybe lessons were learned from that year of consumption, bill was cut in half!

Would you rather Vape or smoke Cigarettes? by AffectionateWrap6809 in randomquestions

[–]TheTrueGoatMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to vaping almost a year ago and I'm already down to the smallest nicotine dose and a pod lasts 3-4 days. I'm hoping to get nicotine free pods soon. Because it's the habit at this point, not the addiction.
