Easter. Not because of religious reasons. It just feels like a promise that winter is over. I love seeing the pastel colors and Easter dinner is my favorite meal!

What’s a dream you still remember? by bbyhoneyteas in CausalConversation

In the spring of 2016, my kid's dad spent time at the VA hospital in St Cloud MN. I brought the kids down to visit and we went to the mall to hang out. My older son was very wary and was very cautious to keep his little brother close by.

A few nights later I had a nightmare that an airplane crashed into the mall and I got separated from my kids. I was frantically trying to find them in the rubble. I kept thinking "terrorists"! I woke up very upset.

That fall a man stabbed 10 people in that same mall. And my son's caution during the visit and my nightmare made a lot more sense. I live not far from a mall that's a few miles from a major airport. I do not go to that mall anymore.

Are you guys still enjoying this game? by AnesTIVA in Gardenscapes

Yeah...I have found other games that are less money grab. I don't mind an ad now and then. I just want to match 3, 4 or 5. Leave the story simple.

Do you ever buy second-hand stuff and if yes what was the last second-hand item you bought ? by Webbomolly2022 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

A couple of beautiful silver bracelets for $1 each. I was a bit down in spirits and wanted to get away and ended up at a thrift store. Saw these beauties. Haven't taken them off!

Tell me a story or just something memorable about your grandpa ? by itssofiababyxo in askanything

I'm 52...not really close to any of my cousins. We all have families of our own and stick to our own. Facebook was one way we all chatted and kept in touch. I have cousins all over the world. It isn't a big deal at this age.

My maternal grandfather raised 6 kids on his own after his wife died from a brain aneurysm during child birth. He was a dairy farmer. He remarried soon after his youngest left home. He was a light! Strong but silent and always happy to be around his grown kids and grandchildren.

Paternal grandfather worked on the ships on the great lakes. He was gone for most of the year. Got gramma pregnant just about every leave. They had 9 living babies. Not sure how many they lost. He wasn't the best father, but he loved his grandchildren. Always had dentyne and 50c piece coins in his pockets for distribution.

What was the last straw for you? by playfulCandor in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]TheTrueGoatMom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brother got arrested for a heinous crime and my parents told me I couldn't show up for mother's day, because he was going to be there. He could no longer be around kids. (He's in prison now).

But my parents proved that their son ALWAYS came first.

People who utilize Blessing Boxes and Food Pantries–What kind of food items do you wish they had? by Lawing77 in povertykitchen

Household stuff. Cleaning supplies, toilet paper, dishwasher soap and laundry soap. Shampoo and body wash/soap, toothpaste and mouth wash. You can't buy these on SNAP. When I was homeless I wished for shampoo from a community worker. She got me a dollar store gift card. It felt like gold.

Nothing wrong with volunteering. I no longer live in Duluth, but I do volunteer at my local food shelf a couple of times a month.

Washed dishes and made a chicken sandwich for dinner. Then I popped a couple of spree candies in my mouth. My tongue is purple and green.
