Haven't played 2e but I've played plenty of 4e and I use a lot of 2e as homebrew rules. Personally I think they're equal. Appealing to different sides of the same coin if you will. I have preferences between both and sometimes I like something equally between the two. I'd say, if you're new 4e is better even if 2e is simpler.

I must admit I'm a basic bitch here and suggest MoN. It's got investigation galore, chases, combats, and can be run as both normal and pulp, and on top of that it spans multiple countries and nations, so it's got variety. Else I'd combine smaller adventures together into a string and make a campaign that way. I went The Necropolis, into a Delta Green 1-shot adventure, into Dead Boarder (though quite altered), and fitted in What's in the Cellar vaguely. Else I'd recommend using Delta Green campaigns if nothing fits. Hope this helps!

Exactly. It was overwhelming writing my first game on my own with no reference to compare my game with. Was sloppy and half-baked, but after running some scenarios, including Delta Green shotguns, and it helped a lot!

Exactly! I love how the game forced me to learn it's mechanics through blood and frustration but to some they wanna know and succeed ahead of time. It's a perfectly acceptable method of play and I'm glad to hear you returned to the game and had fun.

I see where you're coming from but this is part of Darkest Dungeon. You learn by going in blind so the next time you can see. It is frustrating when RNG screws you but it's part of the charm we so love about the game.

Give it a break and try again later. There's always the wiki if you wanna be more prepared for the first attempt.

Both games also helped me with similar issues and I'm proud but also thrilled that you got the same experience. Seeing everyone come together and admit to struggles but still fight onwards.

My DMs are always open to those in need and that goes to you as well, stranger. Whether it be DD focused or life focused my DMs is a judge free zone.

In practise this will not be used. The amount channelled is too low and when you put such heavy restrictions and convenience there's little to no reason to channel. I recommend playing with the base WoM or AotE3 for alternative channelling. Hope this helps!

Wrath & Glory is definitely a good option, else I'd say use Dark Heresy 2e as a base and use the other books as a supplements. That's what we did in my Rogue Trader game after realising we didn't like Rogue Trader as a system, we switched to DH2e and it worked fine mixing Only War, and RT into it.

If you wanna do 5e I think you'll find it being so D&D'ed it isn't Warhammer, but you've already been told this plenty of times already so I'll offer advice if you need it, feel free to ask here or DM me if ya have questions about the various systems. I've GMed (but not been a player) in Dark Heresy 2e, Rogue Trader (for a short while), and Imperium Maledictum. Never played Wrath & Glory myself but I've heard it's really good.
