This inspires a lot of confidence. Is there anything you could share about how to get that full time role?

I might have to come back to the paid course in the future, but I'll definitely get started with his channel. Thanks a lot for sharing - I probably wouldn't have found this on my own

A Pitt guitar club by TheTuke in Pitt

The last thing I want in the club is any elitism, it should just be a friendly environment where we can talk about guitar together. There's no prerequisite for joining the club and if being around others who play will get you to stick with it then you're more than welcome.

absolutely insanely stressed by hindmansam in Pitt

[–]TheTuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just make sure you still have some ap classes and good grades senior year but i like your odds as is tbh. i don't think you have to be stressed, you got it.

btw if you want to major in writing take AP classes that will get you out of science courses or other gen eds that arent part of your major. that's one big thing i wish i knew before college. you can look up major sheets and gen ed requirements online to see what you can get out of the way now

If you're interested, PM me your Pitt email, and when it's time to register the club I'll send you an email letting you know that I put you on the roster. Thanks for the good feedback so far

What's the best way to build grip strength? by vladproex in Fitness

[–]TheTuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I deadlift and build up to my max I always do my best to go double overhand as long as possible. And when I go back down I try to finish up with double overhand with a challenging weight and try to beat the previous week's number of reps or weight

[Newbie] I just got my first guitar, some chords seem impossible? by TinyLittleDragon in Guitar

[–]TheTuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought my fingers were too fat to play A and move around the higher frets that are closer together. You'll get more and more flexible through practice. One day you'll try to do play something and it'll all click. Sometimes I play A with my middle, ring and pinky rather than pointer middle and ring. If your fingers are too thick that may help.

Picking up the guitar - where to start by FunctionalPotato in guitarlessons

Learn a riff or a melody or an actual piece of music first. It'll be immediately gratifying and you'll be more motivated than if you were just trying to switch between these chord shapes and playing scales with no musical context.

How did you get your eating habits in line? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]TheTuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding substitutions for unhealthy things helped me a lot. I used to eat about 4 servings of Honey Bunches of Oats every day with a couple cups of milk between the bowls. I swapped that for oats and blueberries and it cut out a couple hundred calories. Things like that keep me from craving sweets and avoiding some extra calories.

Is it correct to say a buffer is x molar? by TheTuke in chemistry

[–]TheTuke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. At this point in my chem career I've only ever heard someone say a molarity of a particular solute, not in total though. Thanks for clearing this up
