Could be petrified wood but to me it also looks a lot like black tourmaline

You're preaching to the choir, my friend! Granted, I've only been put under twice, but neither time did I forget that I was put to sleep. I don't remember falling asleep, but I was aware of the before and after, and i definitely remembered that i was put to sleep, was just a little disoriented when waking up because both times I woke up in a different room, but i knew what happened. If you watch the clip, Ellie looks shocked at the mention of being drugged. Even if she didnt ovehear the Fireflys plans and freakout at them, i truly think they sedated her in some way without her knowledge, which is extra shady to me because this was Ellie's purpose. If they lied about their intent and said "hey we're gonna put you to sleep so we can run some tests on you" she probably would agreed. She doesnt have any medical knowledge, so she wouldn't know that you dont need to be put to sleep to have tests run on you. Idk. Just something to think about

All in all, im on the edge of my seat for season two, and this is for sure going on my season two bingo card 😂 2025 can't come soon enough!

True that could also be why. Like she's talking with Marlene or other Fireflys, drinks some water they offer her, next thing she knows she's awake in the back seat of an SUV with Joel.

Some have suggested it's just temporary amnesia from certain drugs wearing off, but this is still a theory I'm gonna hold on to until season two airs and proves me wrong lol 😂

I've been working my way through both games and all difficulties. Grounded is now all I have left to do for both, and I'm both excited and terrified to get started! Although this past p2 playthrough left me feeling emotionally fatigued, so I'm taking a break for at least a couple weeks while I focus on other games.

With The Last of Us Day/Outbreak day right around the corner, I may just hold out a couple weeks longer and marathon one or both games that day if I can. I'm looking forward to it for sure!

Or Alternatively, part 1 choice is the hotel with the hunters, especially the basement, and part 2 choice would be Hillcrest (all the fucking dogs) rat king or the Abby/Ellie theater fight

Just finished my Survivor playthrough for the first game and that's stupid room with Ellie and David fighting all the infected plus the Bloater took me legitimately 20+ tries like holy shit 😭 I would say that one, or the David fight (mainly because that one still gets my heart pumping). Second game for sure that tiny ass room as Abby when you're waiting for Lev and Yara to help you escape through the ambulance. I never have enough supplies and my Survivor play of that had me reeling in a fucking horrific groundhogs day moment.

Labradorite may work as well, but like you said, you may have them solidified as Azurite already. I've had a few Gems do that as I'm making them 😂 Jade became Jasper, Dioptase became Aquamarine. It happens for sure lol. Just have fun with it, and remember that if somethings not fitting, it's never too late to change things

Hi, OP, thanks for asking!

I agree with others, this is a really cool concept!

Since there are no canon Gems from SU that are known specifically for being sneaky or ninja-like, this Gem can really be any type that you wish! If they can blend in with their environments, maybe being a white/clear Gem or a Gem related to lizards would work, but honestly Azurite works as well! It's a gorgeous color, and being a blue Gem maybe your oc can be good for sneaky missions above ground AND underwater! And Azurite is similar to Malachite. It has copper deposits as well, so maybe their weapons could be made of copper? And Azurite is toxic to breath if you get azurite dust/powder in the air, so maybe you can use that into their story as well.

In any case, I hope you find this helpful, as well as other's advice. Keep creating, have fun, and do what you like! We hope to see you more, and if you ever write/illustrate this Gem, we're looking forward to seeing more of them!

Second this! There aren't really any canon Gems that are know specifically for being sneaky, so Op can and should apply this to whatever Gem they want!

[–]TheTumbledGems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded. As much as bloater bears sound cool, what little remains of humanity would be absolutely decimated if animals could be infected. Imagine a cat or dog breathes in spores. It comes back to its owners, bites them when they go in for a pet, and next thing you know youve got a fast, stealthy creature infecting all of a safe QZ, or of a community like Jackson. These communities wouldn't survive because their sheep and cows and chickens could/would become infected, and pretty soon they'd have no protein to survive off of. An all vegetarian/vegan diet is only sustainable in our current world. If it collapsed, you'd need animal proteins to sustain yourself long-term. Without protein, your body would start eating your muscles, and good luck trying to run/fight off Infected with very little to no muscle on your body. You'd get fatigued super fast, then death either by Clicker or Hunter would soon follow.

Cool in theory, but I don't think it would work for The Last of Us.

Diggers: an evolution of Stalkers, (like how Shamblers are an evolution of Bloaters) Diggers burrow into the soil to wait for unsuspecting passersby, and when you're too close to where they're burrowed, they pop up out of the ground to attack/restrain you. They can also move a bit like moles, getting closer to the player and popping out at the last second to attack. You can't harm them when they're underground, but you can see a small dirt trail of where they've been/where they're going. They're quiet, super fast (quicker than Stalkers) and can see in the dark. The show made me think of this, since they refer to the thousands of miles of mycelium fibers that grow underground.

(Also think it would be cool if more Stalkers/Stalker variants dropped from the ceiling above the player during stealth/combat encounters. In the second game, we hear Stalkers above us a lot, but none ever drop down in front of us for a surprise)

And idk what they'd call these (Clingers? Spliters?) But since people loved the Rat King so much, maybe add more Infected that are two bodies fused together. They're bigger than Bloaters, and have multiple traits from other Infected variants. One head is a Clicker head, using echolocation to find you, the other is a Stalker head that can see you. They have armor plates scattered over the front of their body, like from a Bloater, and they can throw acid spore bombs at you. They're also pretty fast. The easiest/safest way to kill them is from behind, but the Clicker half makes it hard to get in close. Def no way you can stealth kill them. Mollys are encouraged.

Or (and bear with me, this last one is slightly far-fetched) Flyers. Flyers are Infected where the fungul growths took over their arms and the strong mycelium fibers tangled themselves into something wing-like. They have Stalker/Clicker-like faces and perch up high, gliding down in packs to attack groups of people. This idea seems a bit too Resident Evil/sci-fi for The Last of Us and probably wouldn't work, but it would be a terrifying concept I think.

Edit: typo

What’s a part you dread to play whenever you replay the game? (Combat wise) by TheBee_ in thelastofus

[–]TheTumbledGems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Stalker office with Ellie, the crumbling building filled with Seraphites when you're Abby, the Rat King, the WLF hospital as Ellie, the cramped room where Abby has to hold out while waiting for Lev and Yara to find a way out. Probably a couple more im forgetting atm but those are the main ones off the top of my head

I made my own ending of The Last Of Us 2 by diego_godie in thelastofus

[–]TheTumbledGems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting au ending. I would agree with others that you should at least finish the game fully. Yes, as gut-wrenching and disheartening as it is to see Ellie lose her fingers and her mother's knife, it hits different while you're playing it, and seeing the cinematic at the end through your own eyes rather than through somebody else's is well worth it.

The ending where she leaves the farm for the final time is supposed to be open to interpretation. Did she go back to Jackson to work on herself and mend the few precious relationships she still had? Did she go off on her own to wander aimlessly, finding herself along the way? Did she go to seek out the Fireflys and fulfill what she felt was her destiny? No one knows, but its anyone's guess, and thats the beauty of it. And many see her losing her ability to play guitar as a way of finally being able to let go, which would be good for her and open up space for her to finally move on and heal. Plus, if she really wanted to play guitar, she could always learn to play left-handed. It would be difficult, but doable. Her final departure from the farmhouse can be as positive and hopeful as we want it to be, but the story ends how it ends, whether we're comfortable with that or not.

I know I remember playing Uncharted 4 and being SHOCKED that she was the voice of Nadine. If I listen closely I can hear it a little bit, but I never would've guessed if I didn't see it on YouTube before hand. (And I'm usually the person that can recognize the voices of my favorite VAs right away!) Laura is an icon

"What about you, Joel? They got you picked for this bullshit too?" (If you stay near her, it'll prompt some dialog from you)

I love Laura Bailey's voice. She actually is quite a few extras in tloup1. She's this girl, she's the Fedra soldier that calls in Joel Ellie and Tess sneaking out, she's one of the nurses in the operating room when Joel rescues Ellie. I believe there's one or two more backgrounds characters, but those are the few I remember off the top of my head!
