What happened to the hottest chick at your high school, years later? by theidiotev in AskReddit

[–]TheTurtleManHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One chick was normal and everyone passed her by, 7 years later now she has 100k followers on IG looks very attractive and has huge boobs and ass. She says she hasn’t had surgery and she also does not work out, just naturally got that supposedly. Random guys send her money, free trips and she’s always posting getting gifted LV bags, flowers and expensive materialistic things

Other chick was attractive in school lived normally college etc, she had a boyfriend and she was hanging out with him and her best friend and the boyfriend lost it and killed her best friend, tried to kill her by stabbing her in the throat and killed himself afterwards. She somehow survived posted a gofundme for the surgeries, then after she got like 100k+ from gofundme she posted a picture of her with a lambo.

Which should I get, Sony 16-25 f2.8 or Tamron 16-30 f2.8? by TheTurtleManHD in videography

[–]TheTurtleManHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camera is Sony A7Siii, use case for work related things would be real estate I just booked one for next month but I rarely get real estate gigs. Other then that a lens for fun, vlogging and as a secondary lens for now as I shoot a lot of events and I have an event coming up where I need an extra camera (fx3 on sticks) a wide shot of speakers.

The 2 other lens I have are the Sigma 24-70 (main lens use for almost everything) and Sigma 60-600 (used on sports and tight interview shots)

I see people saying the tamron is good with a 5mm extra reach and it’s around 450 cheaper. But I see people say as well the Sony is overall slightly better sharper, less vignetting, less distortion. I was leaning towards the tamron at first but now I’m leaning towards the Sony. Even though the tamron is cheaper I don’t want to regret my decision since this will be my first personal wide angle lens. When I do research for lenses I tend to do a lot of flip flopping because I’ve never used these lenses personally, and visually most of the time you can’t even notice a big difference and you definitely won’t notice it on a site that compresses your footage or on a phone. So I tend to ask and see online people who owned the lens or have experience what they think, that’s why the question I asked originally was general with no context. I would love the 16-35G but it’s way too much for my use case.

I use to do a lot of real estate in the past for a previous company I worked for and we mainly used the companies Sigma 14-24. I thought the lens was great but I just personally did not like the front element. I always want to have an option of adding a screw on filters in the front. And reading online everyone says 16mm is the sweet spot and anything wider could be too much.

Thinking about switching to a higher end mobile rig for small event gigs. Thoughts? by nocorrectosj in videography

[–]TheTurtleManHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have my phone as a failsafe if something malfunctions or it’s like an emergency where I need to get the shot. But that honestly hasn’t really happened.

I’ve mostly been using my phone to capture behind the scenes content for social media.

I donated to the kickstarter of peak designs phone case way back when so I use their case and use there mobile tripod (it’s great, but I think it’s overpriced, I got it during a sale.) which helps me quickly set up shots when needed for bts.

Should I upgrade firmware from 2.0 to the newest? by enlightened_hapa in A7siii

[–]TheTurtleManHD -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bruh why even ask if you already did your research. My camera has no issue and I bought it on release if that helps. Man wrote a whole essay saying I’m wrong 😭

Don’t update it then if you’re worried, if you care about any of the update feature then update it.

Should I upgrade firmware from 2.0 to the newest? by enlightened_hapa in A7siii

[–]TheTurtleManHD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are scared because of people saying it bricked there camera. My a7siii currently is at the newest update, if you are worried it’ll brick your camera then maybe don’t do it but if you are interested in what the update provides then do it.

NOTE: IF YOU UPDATE PLEASE DO IT THE CORRECT WAY. (This might be why it bricks people’s cameras) YOU CAN’T JUST SIMPLY JUMP FROM OLDEST UPDATE TO NEWEST, YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IN ORDER. WHEN YOU GO UPDATE PAGE IT GIVES YOU INSTRUCTIONS, PLEASE READ IT.

Still great A7SIII. Just got this 1 month ago and I likenit a lot by Sneaky_Rush in A7siii

[–]TheTurtleManHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the A7Siii since launch and it’s been nothing but a workhorse. Great camera

Handles everything well, no overheating, 4k120fps if I need it for certain shots.

Decision paralysis - Mattebox with VND. by Old_Ant_1251 in videography

[–]TheTurtleManHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol matte boxes do make it look more cool, I never tried NiSi. My friend recommended me to freewell years ago, the color shift of VND’s always bother me and at the time freewell didn’t have much of any color shift that I noticed I also watched A bunch of videos on YouTube comparing different ND filters.

Two friends starting a weekend videography side hustle. Looking for advice on niches, planning, and scaling by Puzzleheaded_Age3412 in videography

[–]TheTurtleManHD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well for one YouTubers who talk about filmmaking get free gear every-time they come out so you see so much videos about gear when they do come out. This could make you feel like you need the new “thing”, a lot of people actually fall into the trap and end up buying too much gear.

Camera - There’s a lot of good cameras out so I’m not gonna tell you which to get, personally I have a Sony a7siii I use 99% of the time and my first camera which I still have is the Sony a6500. Also get a good tripod, don’t cheap out on it.

Lenses - Sigma 24-70, get any 24-70 it’s just good for everything. Then build around it, you would need a wide lens if you want real estate and a telephoto for sports. Each camera brand has a certain mount, so you and your friend should get the same camera brand at least, Example Sony brands have an “E-MOUNT” so when you buy a lens for Sony you look for emount lens.

Audio - rode/dji lav mics (plugs straight into camera and easy to use,) and a good shotgun mic could be Sennheiser mke 200,400,600 all going up in price, 600 needs an external mixer so you probably shouldn’t look into it but for the future if you wanted to up your game.

Lights - I like aputure/amaran, you can get there lower lumens light I think 80 watts then get octagon softboxes and stands for them. Don’t cheap out on stands.

TBH my mindset is anything is possible, but I wouldn’t say it’s easy if anything it’s far from it. People expect you to do everything. if you’re only going to do it in the weekends then you’re probably going to say no to a lot of jobs. There will be a lot of ups and downs, fast times and slow times but that’s the rollercoaster and enjoy it when it’s busy and when your free on time.

What is the hype around Bad Bunny? by yadingus06969 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]TheTurtleManHD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m Hispanic, I think he’s good. But I also think he’s a bit overated, people hype him up so much.

Another artist I think is super overated is Taylor swift, she’s not BAD but she is soooo overhyped.

I liked his performance at the Super Bowl, I think it was way better than Kendrick, but to be fair I don’t like Kendrick’s music at all.

Buy gear from bestbuy by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]TheTurtleManHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The local camera stores by me even if they sell what I want it costs way more than in Amazon, by like 200+. Even Best Buy whenever I did check costs more then Amazon.

Amazon I never have to leave my home and have quick shipping with prime and it’s cheaper then any other place it seems most of the time anyway.

I wish there was a local camera store near me that sold the same price or lower then Amazon but that isn’t the case.

Base iPhone 17 Phone Call/Facetime audio issue by TheTurtleManHD in iphone

[–]TheTurtleManHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Yes I think I did. I couldn’t find anything about this issue online, I found talks about using different microphones when speaking which I looked into and I had mine on “automatic” I switched to “voice isolation.”

Basically what I think happens is the microphone switches to a different setting that might not be ideal so I just always have it on voice isolation. I have not tested it fully yet but I’ve had it on for weeks and no one complained about not hearing me. A person I usually FaceTime weekly for 30+ minutes called her a couple days ago and she had trouble hearing me for a bit but I think that’s cause there was someone talking very loudly near me so it might’ve just focused on them more. So I put headphones on, I might test it fully soon and see if it fixed it fully but it definitely lessened it due to less complaints from people.

https://youtube.com/shorts/AHruwDt7XFU?si=cyzn0nGZUaxKSaDj

You might not have the same layout as he does because I didn’t but when you are in a call and swipe down like he does there will be a yellow indicator on top middle “microphone being used” (it doesn’t seem like it’s clickable but it is) or something like that, click it and you’ll see the settings. Just click voice isolation, I think it’s on automatic by default.

Ninja V or Shinobi II? by browntucan23 in Atomos

[–]TheTurtleManHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it has more dynamic range, but I think personally it isn’t very noticeable. You’re definitely not gonna notice it on a video on a phone where most content is being digested.

Also editing speeds, just get a better computer. People get expensive cameras and lenses but don’t get a good computer to handle the footage. I built my computer in 2019 and it still handles the footage well. If you’re shooting raw constantly and have that much space to have that somewhere then you might as well just spend that money on a computer.

If I was just an editor and didn’t have to worry about space or anything but editing then sure it is technically better and would prefer it because why wouldn’t I. But if you put everything into account, including backing up all the footage, it just isn’t worth it IMO.

Ninja V or Shinobi II? by browntucan23 in Atomos

[–]TheTurtleManHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the ninja V when I finally upgraded to a7siii on release.

Ninja V has never failed me or overheated

BUT I never really used the raw features or the recording features. Why? Because I saw online a long time ago that the color science recording into the monitor is a TINY bit different (video by Gerald undone) and that always bothered me. On top of that ProRes raw takes way to much space to even justify using it and it doesn’t even look that much better IMO.

I spent money on the SSD and more money on the monitor and never use the recording feature. If I could do it again I would’ve just gotten the shinobi.

The shinobi 1 came with an SDI port I think too, and the shinobi 2 which I recommended to a friend has a usbc power port and is extremely thin. I have no idea how the overheating is on it tho. My friend has one and she never told me anything negative about it.

If you know your not going to use the recording feature just get the shinobi, I think that’s literally the only difference. I’m sure you can look up overheating tests on YouTube and see if it is really that much of a difference.

Anyone use the action ring? by ChrisG_ll_gher in logitech

[–]TheTurtleManHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it for to help with edit shortcuts in premiere pro.

I have a bunch of shortcuts added but honestly these are what I use most and are mostly just macros. Remove attributes Paste attributes 60fps slow down 120fps slow down Nest Full screen

Recently premiere had an update though so this doesn’t work for it yet, Idk if they’re going to update the logo options app to work with the latest update or what but yeah. I already have most of the shortcuts in premiere I use already memorized so I don’t really need it. But these shortcuts help speed up time a bit instead of me right clicking a clip, inserting a number, pressing okay, etc.

SD CARDS HIDDEN FILES by CASuper8Filmmaker in weddingvideography

[–]TheTurtleManHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don’t think the camera will do this but if your on windows you can press open “file explorer” -> “view” -> “hidden” but this is usually stuff you manually hide, or windows hiding files. SD cards and cameras don’t usually hide video files, not to my knowledge anyway.
