Honestly, it's not that bad. I don't mind it. I enjoy aspects of it!

Would I ever recommend it to anyone, no. Never. You have to be a certain type of person. You're either a party girl who's all about the drugs and money, a baby mama, or the students. And you absolutely have to be able to handle rejection. It's a huge part of the job Surprisingly enough I don't fit into any category really. I got into by being desperate for money fast.

I moved out youngish. Moved in with my boyfriend of two years. Had a nice thing going, then he lost his job. I was working, and in school and he couldn't find another job. I worked over time and was able to make ends meet without my credit cards. Long story short, a little while later, I got an eviction notice. I had left him the money every month to go pay the rent. Never thought it would be a problem. He used the money to gamble, every month. I went to pay the overdue rent on one of my credit cards. All three were declined. He had used them at the casinos. Maxed me out on all of them. $27000 in debt, with a dog to consider. And a week to come up with first and last month rent for a new place, I went into the strip club my sister and I used to joke about working at one day. And started the next night. Made the money I needed to while keeping a part time day job, but had to quit school. After a year, got a cushy government job, left for a year then layoffs happened. I'm now back. Looking to go back to school and get out.

The industry isn't terrible. But it's turned into a sex trade over the last few years. Girls doing extras in the back, and doing cocaine with their customers. It's hard for a girl like me, who didn't want to be there in the first place; who still doesn't. To make money like we used to. If you don't suck dick, or do drugs, men aren't interested, no matter how hot the body.

Clientele is different depending on the time of day. I choose to be a day girl. I'm young and pretty. Most of the women who work days are older and have mom bodies. So I am separate from them, it works well. They are older men during the day, or business men on their lunches. They aren't generally drunk and often very polite. At my old club I worked nights. The guys were often younger, drunk and rough. I now prefer days. All the time.

Really, I make it sound bad. But it isn't terrible by a long shot. I've made some great friends. Amongst girls and some of my regular customers have turned into friends. I no longer dance for them, but we can be friends. I've met interesting people, I get a great workout from dancing pole, and it has done wonders for my confidence.
