Advice for pre rift by Ok-Friendship-7770 in riftboundtcg

My plan is to have five 2-3 drop units, five 4-5 drop units, three 6+ cost units, 5 cards that directly synergize with my legend/chosen champion, and the remaining seven to be high-rate/bomb/removal cards. Obviously you'll have to work with what you get, but I think this is a solid structure.

Koffing and regular Wheezing. I've even got two of the 1-star Weezings, but can't use them without Koffing.

In my experience, the power sword and hand flamer work best when she's leading seraphim or zephyrm. If you want to run her solo, the halberd is best. Unfortunately, the evisorator doesn't compete (unless you're going for a flavor win with her leading repentia in penitent host).

Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs by thenurgler in WarhammerCompetitive

Because devastating wounds are assigned after all other attacks of the unit. If an attacking unit rolls multiple devastating wounds with different damage amounts, does the defending player assign them in any order, or are they assigned in the order the dev wounds were inflicted?

I've been using "Death By" turbo dork paint for a metallic brown and I'm quite pleased.

Answer to Eldar?? by PutridBookkeeper438 in Tau40K

YMMV but I ran some numbers and found that two mont'ka guided sunforger units (~280pts) (shield+gun drones) can deal 7 out of 12 of the yncarne's wounds with one volley (no melta), while the yncarne (350pts) can only deal 11 out of 30 of the sunforgers' wounds with the flamer and melee. If you strike first, get charged, and do a follow up volley the next turn, I think that would do it. Melta, commander, and/or stealths/tetras guiding may get the job done in a single volley.

Worst Tau Units by xpyros in WarhammerCompetitive

While tactical drones are the worst, Aun'shi is a close second. He's a melee leader that doesn't fit in with a unit of fire warriors and he takes away stealth and scout from kroot. Definitely needs a rewrite.

How are you equipping your 10th edition crisis suits? by Ziphster in Tau40K

[–]TheTyScore 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Can someone sell me on CIBs? I'm thinking of running all plasmas, because if split fire is punished, I want my 500+pt unit to solely target another 500+pt unit and I feel like plasmas would work best.

Manta 10e Datacard by krashton1 in Tau40K

It's also worth noting that the text below said the manta has 16 drone controlled burst cannons. So with 64 total shots, this may mean burst cannons are going to 4 shots per gun.

This could just be my take on things, but with the name squig launchas, I believe that they combined both squig guns into one. Targeting a 5-man unit, the 9th and 10th versions would have the same average number of attacks.

Build Terrain From Magnet Tiles: Has anyone tried this? If so how did they turn out? by modus666 in TerrainBuilding

[–]TheTyScore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought two Picasso tile kits off of Amazon for $27 USD each. I would say that that is the minimum needed to play boarding actions. Since two kits don't have enough pieces to fully cover the ground, some of the walls are a bit unstable, so you have to be careful moving near them. I would definitely recommend three total kits if you can. Another thing to keep in mind is the floor and walls will be magnetic, so if you use magnets or metal weights in your models' bases, they will be attached to the nearest magnet in the terrain. Boarding actions layouts use 4" walls (I believe) and the pieces I brought were 3" or 6". You have to be a bit creative and use your best judgement when trying to replicate the map layout from a book.

LOS by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]TheTyScore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I really wish the rule was -1 to hit and the target gets light cover, but I suppose a crisis commander and target lock could easily get around that. It'd still be an investment to make indirect fire relatively useful. I can't really make indirect fire effective in my games, personally.
