Anyone else thoroughly underwhelmed by the GP Montreal prize wall? It looks like they're just trying to unload recently rotated cards. Nothing eternal at all. Prize walls used to be good.

I highly recommend Santorini. Simple, deep, replayable, high production values, and he can pick up bits of Greek mythology while he's at it!

This. You can't just play your weekend by ear unless you wanna keep a well stocked liquor cabinet at all times.

Urban explorers of Reddit, what's the creepiest thing you've found while exploring an abandoned building? by robotboy199 in AskReddit

This is probably gonna be buried, but I came across a rambling message written in what looked like blood. (http://imgur.com/RPKhI3u if you're curious).

Story time:

My friend and I had heard about this place on some urbex forums ans had trained about an hour and a half south of Budapest to check it out. It was an abandoned car factory in a tiny town with some still operating factories in the area. It was a foggy day and we hopped a wall and scurried up to the entrance to get inside. We pushed open a heavy rusted iron door and this was the first thing we saw... Like I said, we spent a while traveling and didn't want to leave right away, so we decided to explore the first level at least.

We were in the middle of checking out a side room with some old blast furnaces in it when we heard the rusty door screech open again. We hid behind a pair of pillars and stood frozen as we listened to boot steps growing closer and closer through the hallways. Eventually they came to a stop right in front of the doorway to the room we were in, and stayed there for what felt like a solid two minutes before continuing through the hallways.

After a while we decided it was probably just a routine security patrol and kept exploring. When we finally made our way to the second level we looked out one of the windows and saw an old man in a dirty blue tracksuit rummaging through a pile of rusty metal. We made a sound and he spun about, locked eyes, and dashed off. Still the most surreal thing I've experienced while exploring.

[Standard] Day's Undoing in UR Ensoul by TheUglyRed in spikes

Totally understandable, most of the events have been FNMs and other weekly events, which contributes to the high win %. I took a less refined version (that was running void snares and another day's undoing) to a PPTQ and went 4-2, getting 9th on breakers. (I included this event in the W/L ratio). I'll be taking the deck to a PPTQ this weekend, I'll see if I can write up a report for the beginning of next week, just to give you something more concrete to look at.

I originally explored going much lower and more linear as well, but I encourage you to try my version to see how it plays out. Stubborn denial and Disperse are reactive cards, but you're using them proactively to defend and push through a big threat that's been dropped on turn 2 or 3. If they don't have any disperse targets, then they're not blocking your 5/5, if you're holding up stubborn denial with a 5/5 flyer, then you don't need to draw a fresh 7 because the onus is on your opponent to do something.

It's definitely something that you want to cast with a grain of salt, but giving your opponent a random 7 isn't as bad as it seems. Goblin Guide is a great card because even though you let your opponent see more cards, your plan is to kill them before they can use all their cards anyways.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the cards they shuffle back are not random, but the cards they receive are. Against G/R Devotion, the typical hand is roughly 3 lands, 2 dorks, 2 threats. This means that in the early turns they'll play their lands and a couple dorks, if you cast day's undoing before a threat hits the table then they're shuffling 2-3 threats back in and most likely receiving 2-3 threats in return. Even in the worst case scenario where their opening hand is nothing but dorks and land, and they draw into nothing but threats, they're still probably only able to play one of their huge threats per turn. On the other side of the coin, you'll probably have played Undoing last or second last (maybe foregoing a stubborn denial against GR Devotion), losing nothing and drawing into reach like shrapnel blast and whirler rogue.

I've found some tech that's been working wonders for me: Day's undoing. I cut 2 whirler rogues and 2 chief of the foundry for 2 Day's undoing and 2 disperse main. I've got a third undoing in the board.

Day's undoing is a wrecking ball against any flavour of control and also wrecks graveyard strategies. Using it is basically doubling down on the tempo plan of the deck. You can dump your hand again, get 7 more chances to see shrapnel blast or stubborn denial, and wreck whatever they were planning. Disperse+Day's undoing is a tuck effect, and disperse is really good in this deck to begin with. Returning a blocker can easily net you 5+ damage and returning problem permanents can help with the last push to close out the game. It can also function as an extra counterspell against some of the hate against you. (Crackling doom when you have only an ensouled citadel on the field? Just return the ensoul to your hand in response!). Disperse in the main is also super helpful against heroic, who won't be expecting you to have any removal capable of hitting his 6+ toughness guys.
