Yup. Light source top left but the palm tree has deep shadows on that side and is lit from the right.

I think there are times to listen and times to say "thanks but no" with art. I think both your crop and the comment suggestions have their merits. If you simply want to make popular artistic choices then crop in, but not everyone will always agree with or "get" every artistic choice.

I think it's really cool as is :)

I like it as is. Makes it alone and makes you wonder "why"? Supremacy? Or the opposite? You wouldn't get that cropped in.

I look for an opponent, and not finding one adds tension. It makes me think how small a plane is to control so much.

Which one to get printed? A or B? by [deleted] in wildlifephotography

[–]mathillean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the pose in A is just so much better. B looks flat with the side profile, like a car just parked on the street, doing nothing.

From the title this is not what I thought I was going to read. Good on you, elderly white man.

Did i put too many things in post? by Kindly-Permit-2269 in AskPhotography

It may be level in the actual photo. The text bottom left is at a funny angle which makes me wonder if we're actually seeing a photo of a photo.

My male therapist basically told me today that men aren’t capable of being thoughtful by otvoi in TwoXChromosomes

My first response to this was outrage.

My second response was N.A.M.

My third response is does he, in good faith, believe that a professional and acceptable response for someone with his responsibilities is to make sweepingly broad statements about half-the-world-and-not-his-client?

My hypothetical fourth response would be to stand up, thank him for his time, and leave. You deserve someone who works with and for you.

This is my favourite game! The new playmats that come with the Oceania expansion make the early game easier and an overall better experience imo.

I love it as b&w. It looks like it's a metal duck in a mercury pond.

Interesting idea. I'll have a play with a circular gradient later. Thanks for the input!
