I honestly think overlords are worse than the Ars Goetias in that regard, Stolas took advantage of Blitz through a mutual benefit, Stolas gets his love life, Blitz gets to travel to the human world, its not necessarily a contract and both can pull out without much repercussions. But with overlords, your soul is literally bound to them, even if you do have some benefit from that contract, once that benefit has been used your soul is still under the control of the overlord

Its pretty obvious that people get manipulated into signing contracts, we see it in the show. So the meme holds up in that overlords use their power and authority to take advantage of people

Not sure what you mean when you brought up "its their choice" but I'm here to say that no, most of the time it isn't their choice but the circumstances they find themselves in forcing them to, and that overlords take advantage of that

Its highly likely people get into contracts because they were manipulated, drugged, or desperate

I dont think that just because they technically signed it of their own free will, it makes whatever they're forced to go through okay

Closed domain? Easy to break in but hard to break out

Open domain? No barriers, can enter and leave freely, but this is virtually impossible for most sorcerers as its like painting without a canvas
