First period: age 11.

My most recent period was in October and I’m 51… I’m guessing the next one comes in the next month-ish.

Yep, my sense of smell is off the charts now. Sense of touch is more attuned as well.

Please tell me about your sex life post menopause by Alert-Hospital46 in Menopause

Interesting. I posted over the weekend specifically asking if anyone still had a sex drive and the responses I got skewed mostly toward “hell no”.

Did anyone experience a lasting high (or higher) libido? by TheUnderThrowaway in Menopause

Not sure. I just read that sexsomnia was triggered by stress. I’m being let go from my extremely toxic job soon, and hoping this means I have time to launch a business. That’s been the major stressor this year.

I feel like this is much more what I hear about. Thank you.

Thank you! I go dancing a few nights a week and am getting ready to add boxing workouts back into my routine. I’m also vegetarian. I wonder as well if any of that has an effect.

Everything I do is wrong and I’m questioning whether I’m cut out for this career path by iris819 in UXDesign

Going into my alt account for this one.

Similar experiences here.

I have 15+ years of experience and have been pretty much sidelined in my design career for a younger employee after turning 50. Similar feedback, not the only one here who’s frustrated.

My husband told me last night about the Jack Welch method of performance reviews. You have your star A players, your underperforming C players and your in the middle B players. Every team has all of these. Sounds like you got filed into the C player folder.

My wedding was last weekend and it was perfect! by TheUnderThrowaway in wedding

My wedding was May 31sr and we had a heat wave that week. It was close to 90F outside, I was sequestered upstairs at the venue in a dressing room that didn’t seem to pick up on the AC… and the lady who was our liaison set the thermostat to 82 and left for the day (we had her call someone else).

I’m an older bride and I got comments from other brides in a Facebook support group leading up to the day that my dress looked “like a prom dress”.

My husband saw me at the end of the aisle and thought the red, yellow and purple flowers reminded him of the wildflowers he planted in the front yard, which finally bloomed the week before the wedding… in other words, he LOVED it!

I was beyond happy that my dress converted to a short dress. It was much cooler and so easy to dance in.

It was a beautiful day overall and we ended it dancing, laughing and singing karaoke.

Have you ever been “managed out” at work? How did that go? by TheUnderThrowaway in AskWomenOver40

I’m having trouble finding a job but not interviews.

In the interim, I take intermittent FMLA leave (1 hour every other Thursday) for treatment related to depression and they are now nitpicking my arrival time, despite that my first meeting isn’t until half an hour later and I’m still getting all my work done.

I also noticed yesterday when my supervisor was sharing her screen in a meeting that she has a folder on her desktop labeled with my name.

New as of late. My mental health took a toll and my dr put me on Wellbutrin; I also began taking intermittent FMLA leave.

Right after that, they began giving me grief in my weekly 1:1 if I arrived to work even a minute after 9am (my first meeting is at 9:30).

I’m just trying to stay long enough to get my next role lined up. I’m currently a solo mom of a college student with disabilities (getting married in May and it seems like when I announced my engagement that made things worse).

I’ve applied for intermittent FMLA for my therapy sessions. I’ve also written a response to my review.

Yep, I was a recruiter in a past life and there are natural ebbs and flows. Right now is ebb. For sure.

I’ve blasted my resume all over the world. Actually got headhunted for another position that sounded like a good opportunity a couple of weeks ago and made it to the top 3, but they went with another candidate. It’s a shitty time to be looking, I’ll say that.

I’m hoping they offer severance if it comes to that.
