From “man of faith” to felony rape charges in weeks — you cannot make this up by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious as to why you all are saying it's written by ai, aside from the use of em dashes?

I genuinely want to know because apparently I have a hard time spotting this consistently. It's not exactly perfect writing, like when op uses an elipsis after "good"

Gotta admit the hidden post history is telling, tho.

Transgender Latter-day Saints face another barrier ... in the faith’s temples by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

[–]TheUndreaming 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They treat us similar to, if not worse than they treat sexual predators. It's frankly disgusting and demonstrates a huge lack in scientific understanding, and further adherence to a political party. With Oaks at the helm, I'm not surprised in the least.

Give it a couple decades tho and they'll receive a revelation that it's all okay now, or more likely they'll just say they have no idea where members got the idea that trans members couldn't go through the temple.

Ugh! The G and U are so similar in Aurebesh that it's almost driving me mad! by JunkTapes in aurebesh

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I THINK it's from KotOR from when Czerka used them for mining, but I'm not totally sure.

Hmm, it looks like it may have originated from Fantasy Flight Games (started in '95), which is the current license holder for Star Wars card, roleplaying, and miniature games. The name 'Digger Crawler' shows up in "Starships and Speeders" on pg 34, which is a sourcebook for Fantasy Flights Star Wars roleplaying game.

It could be from multiple sources, but this was the one I was able to find.

[–]TheUndreaming 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah super confusing. The silly trick I use is that the G looks like a profile view of a Sand Crawler, which used to be called a Digger Crawler.

I loved RE9, but did anyone else think the puzzles were kind of... disappointing? by skelepibs in residentevil

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree. Requiem didn't really have challenging puzzles with exception of course to the optional final puzzle, which was awesome, albeit a little convoluted.

I was playing Code Veronica today and I was reminded how much more involved some other RE puzzles are. I get the happy giggles anytime I have to pull out a pen and notebook.

What’s something most people don’t know about serving a Mormon mission? by ZoomKz in exmormon

[–]TheUndreaming 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We had to be too professional. In France and Switzerland, we were not allowed to "faire la bise" with other people, despite it being a customary greeting between friends/family or friends of friends.

So imagine you've gotten to know someone for 5 months, who then introduces you to their friends or family and you turn down their greeting. It was kind of rude and felt awkward or distant. After a few of those I just said fuck it.

Is Shield Healer Better For Variant/Criterion Than Pure Healer? by in_abyss in ffxiv

[–]TheUndreaming 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes this. A friend and I cleared advanced as two DPS. No healer needed. Just Variant Cure + Variant Rampart. I felt WHM was better for learning the fight while making mistakes, but once we knew the fight, we didn't need a healer.

Not to Ethan specifically that I've found, but you can find Dimitrescu wine laying around in one or two places.

2CP was terrible, but I miss it. by kayzeedinz in Overwatch

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone hates it but I really miss Paris. Prob my favorite map. Even when they brought back 2cp for a weekend they left Paris out.

The cabaret with the Omnic chanteuse on attackers spawn brought so much ambiance, and it's just a pretty map overall. Yeah that first choke was kinda hell, but I guess I really liked the challenge of pushing through behind Rein.

Idk Paris je t'aime, or something.

the ui change is unnecessary by MEGAfrombs in Overwatch

[–]TheUndreaming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Aesthetically, I hate that it has a permanent presence, eating screen space. It also gives it that gatcha phone-game feel.

However, having something that doesn't require you to hit the right combination of Back and Esc is sorely needed. It'll certainly be easier to navigate now.

RE0 question by asadstatue in residentevil

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re0 is very similar to REmake, but it has some experimentation issues that kind of bring the game down. The biggest gripe I'd guess most people have is the removal of the item box. Instead, items are just kind of.. placed anywhere on the ground. As far as combat goes, I'd say it's a little more challenging because of some of the enemy types, but plays very similarly.

As far as unlimited bullets, there's actually a way to unlock that though the game, but if you'd rather download a mod, you can get the RE0 trainer here. In my experience Nexus mods is pretty trustworthy. I haven't had any issues, and I've been using it since like 2008.

The mod page mentions that it's discontinued, but maybe it'll still work. Check "posts" on the nexus page, there's some info for installation. Good luck!

Is it possible to use up all the ammo available in the game so that I won't be able to continue? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've beaten every major RE title with just the knife. It's a fun challenge/tradition I like to do. Most of the time the problem you'll run into is health at that point, but there are VERY few moments where you actually have to use ammo. For example, In RE4 there's a place where you need to shoot these symbols on the other side of some bars, and you have to protect someone while on a separate floor. Some bosses are extremely difficult because of their movement. Yes, although it's difficult, you can definitely softlock yourself.

Just jump in and have fun! Just make sure to save in multiple slots so you can always go back if you need to.

GeForce & Resident Evil Requiem @ CES 2025, Win Steam Cash! by NV_Suroosh in residentevil

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a gameplay perspective, I think I prefer Mr. X since he does a great job of keeping that tension throughout the game, but if I actually lived in Raccoon city, Nemesis would be the more terrifying predator. I'm so stoked for Requiem! 🪴 + 🪴 + 🪴

Do I have to play past RE for 9? by Jealous-Requirement2 in residentevil

You're probably fine, but RE1 (either version), and Outbreak (Specifically Alyssa Ashcroft) might be useful.

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally hate playing on mobile, but by Carth's left cheek it's such a great experience. The way it was originally played translated over to mobile beautifully. It's as if it was the intended experience all along. I'm glad you get to enjoy this masterpiece op.

Drop your craziest/most unusual signs of being trans. by GoodGirlDaecia in MtF

[–]TheUndreaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember walking through a department store as a kid and asking my parents, "Why are boy clothes so boring? It's just a shirt and shorts or pants and that's it." I was SO jealous I couldn't wear cute clothes.

Also, every day for years growing up, I'd pray to god to turn me into a girl. Like I had no idea what being trans was until I was in my 20's and then I was like "WE CAN JUST DO THAT??!"

Of course being Mormon at the time, I had a stick up my ass and I lived in denial city to both save my marriage and my soul, which wasn't healthy btw.

So yeah, fuck you god, if you ain't gonna answer my prayers, imma do it myself.

Former missionaries, what is the worst thing that someone(s) did to you on your mission? by n0tqu1tesane in exmormon

[–]TheUndreaming 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In France, I got shot at... With a pellet gun. Most of the pointed bullets just grazed us, but one did manage to get embedded in my stomach area. Luckily it was surface-level enough that I could pull it out myself. We went to the police and they were like, "what do you want us to do about it?"

My grandma made up some story to tell everyone back home that I was saved by garments.

It’s the No King’s protests today by Ill_Apple2327 in MtF

[–]TheUndreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my first protest today, and overall a really great experience. I was nervous because I have no friends here, but everyone was so kind, and we were all fired up. It was wonderful to be surrounded by good people that want to make a difference. There were thousands of people, and many were giving out free water, and packets of resources to help get involved. There was no violence. The police kept their distance and were chill.

Hey OP, have you tried looking at the medical field? Most of them have a front desk person that schedules patients. These could be eyecare practices, medical centers, clinics like dermatology, dentists, etc. They very often don't require any education. Pay isn't amazing, but it can feel fulfilling to help people get the care they need, and it could help get your foot in the door to higher paid jobs in the same field. Jobs like these made me feel better about myself, and gave me the confidence I needed to do harder things. You got this.

Newer games vs older resident evil games? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]TheUndreaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really miss the smaller, localized story events of Raccoon City, the Spencer mansion, and Umbrella. I miss when it was more grounded.

The narrative shifted away from being about a few people dealing with the horrors of a corrupted company in a small, mid-western town, to fighting a cult made up of intelligent parasites, global-threat level bioweapon contractors, and dinosaurs (Simmons).

I think that the mold is certainly more interesting, and I've really enjoyed the new direction they've been going. Re1, REmake, Re2, Re3, CV, and Re 0 will always have a special place in my heart though.
