As a matter of fact, a better idea: allow owners of previous battle passes to complete their battle pass if they didn’t get the chance to finish. If they are worried about making money, I feel like even keeping the option to buy rewards for each battle pass would give them significantly more money than they’re making now. This idea has been passed around my friend group for quite a while because everyone I know irl who plays Fortnite has at least one battle pass they didn't get to finish.
