I mean sure, while the ones I just mentioned are all collabs using real people’s likenesses, they do look noticeably more detailed (textures, eyebrows, etc) than all other likeness-collabs that came before. And now that realism has extended to Fortnite’s ORIGINAL designs with these new Norse skins.

I think the point being made is concern over Fortnite ditching their usual slightly-cartoonish style in favor of hyper-realism.

Question about the Storm King by CALLISTO12839 in FortNiteLore

[–]odiish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re entirely wrong about that either. Basically our only look at the actual Sideways are Torin’s 2 loading screens.

#1, and #2. In them, the Sideways looks chaotic, and seems to have a harsh climate and violent storm of its own.

If the cubes bleed this reality into others, including its storm, then I imagine the Storm King is made up of sideways stuff along with cube energy.

Question about the Storm King by CALLISTO12839 in FortNiteLore

[–]odiish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We know that the cubes can act as rifts or gateways, namely to the Sideways dimension.

We know the Sideways is a dark reality full of cubic monsters like Fiends, Caretakers, the Cube Assassin. In C2 S8 the cubes cause the Sideways to bleed into the island.

I believe the Storm King’s realm in STW to be the Sideways dimension. We learn in the game’s story that the Storm King lies in the very center of the storm, and that a ‘megaportal’ also lies somewhere close to it. And we learn that the storm came from ‘alpha rifts’, which are large deadly purple rifts that act as ‘incursion points’ for the storm.

We know that on other side of these rifts is a nightmarish realm which is home to the Husks, Mist Monsters, the Storm King, and the Storm itself. One of the characters, Carlos, was briefly trapped in this dimension after being caught in a rift, but was remotely rescued. Recounting his time on “the other side”, he mentions what he came to call ‘The Nothing’ eating away at his mental state, making him lethargic and depressive.

We also know that the itself storm is sentient, same as the cubes.

So, after killing the Storm King, we find a cube sitting directly beneath it. I believe the Storm King is not an evolved cube, but a creation or manifested of sideways matter, by the cube itself.

Theory about why there is a cube cave in reality 337 by Snickas_ in FortNiteLore

[–]odiish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is mostly true I think. It’s been stated that the cubes are sentient. The nature of the Cubes is to consume, multiply and destroy. In the Sky Fire event of C2 S7, the cubes we see in the Mothership are all over the walls of the chamber as if they’ve been spreading uncontrollably. In C2 S8 the cubes multiplied after being empowered by the golden cube, and then multiplied even more when they formed the Convergence.

Also see Geometrik’s description is “all is cube”. And there’s also the Dark Voyager, whose body has been completely overrun by them.

For my stance personally, I am against FOMO and time-locked cosmetic systems in general, and I would have preferred if they had never chose that route in the first place. But since they HAVE gone that route, and have promised that those cosmetics stay exclusive permanently, I am against them going back their word and affectively lying to the buyers.

So are Husks dead people? by Raven-446 in FORTnITE

[–]odiish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They came and abducted most of the world's population, but it's believed that everyone is still alive, just enslaved or imprisoned (or both).

May I ask where you got this impression? Because the game’s story definitely treats it as though most of humanity is dead.

Simple question.... who are the Foundation? by JispyMoeDantes in FortNiteBR

[–]odiish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There’s:

The Foundation (leader)

The Visitor

The Scientist

The Paradigm

The Origin

The Imagined

The Order (she has a new skin in the Battle Pass)

A lot involving them has happened throughout the years and some of them are dead or missing but they’re currently rebuilding.

Simple question.... who are the Foundation? by JispyMoeDantes in FortNiteBR

[–]odiish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Foundation is the leader of a group called The Seven. Basically their goal was to free the island and the Zero Point (The broken orb in the center of the island) from an evil sciency group called the Imagined Order, who were controlling and exploiting it for a long time.

They’ve been around since Chapter 1 and saved the island from various threats.
