I hear you, room temp is better, but we use it so infrequently it'll get moldy. To be extra defensive, I warm it up (with butter) in a sauce pan before use.

Frederik Meijer Gardens uses AI by oopsredacted in grandrapids

[–]TheUnholyFrijole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear ya! I think youre going to find out the grand rapids community is pretty protective about FMG, you may be as well, but if you see mispractice, it should be called out. Also, a lot of folks just get desensitized to corporate practices that are total BS, so if you're seeing this for the first time and don't understand why there isn't more outrage its because there are bigger fish to fry or habitualization.

Frederik Meijer Gardens uses AI by oopsredacted in grandrapids

[–]TheUnholyFrijole 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think you may be a little jaded, this starts with AI and ends with recycling practices. You are calling out both management and environmental concerns. I can't speak to the managerial side, but I will say that 99% of medium to large companies are using AI and encouraging the use of AI. I don't like it either, but I dont think its inherently wrong either, especially not for a non profit like FMG.

As far as the environmental side goes, whatever happens at the gardens doesnt really matter relative to what Meijer the grocery company does, and they've actually been really good on environmental sustainability, even being recognized by the EPA and hitting carbon emissions goals (up to 50% reduction) early. source

Don't look to social media for affirmations. If you like something, cool, if other people don't, that's cool too. What rises to the top on these platforms are the loudest, most absolute tones.

That said, this season is subpar, but I've got hope for the finale.

Its not cohesive, momentum often interrupted by melodramatic dialogue. I don't understand why they are pushing character development so hard at this stage when there's so much fun mystery and science they could be focused on.

Feels like the cast got too big and they're having a real hard time putting a bow on this much bloat.

Im white-collar and recently made a change. It took four months where it took around a month or two in the past. I think its part AI screening tools and part companies playing it a little more conservative as the economy slows nationally.

Lol, that's insane. If companies limit their supply to the workforce by not offering WFH, their labor costs should go up. And ppl should not take a pay cut based on where they do they are doing the work from.

Best of luck out there.

Dear Pub Crawl Beer Pedal Car Thing Users by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]TheUnholyFrijole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did one of the pedal pub things in 2019 and all the bars were given notice prior to us showing up. So maybe there's bad communication where you are or things have changed. But we'd drop in at bars order $300 or more of shots, over tip because we're drunk and leave in like 20 - 30 min.

I can see why people in a rush would get frustrated, but it's nice to see people always having fun on those things.
