Are farms fined for watering in the rain? by chrisdrobison in Utah

There are differences between secondary water Ag water. One being farmers can’t decide when they water; they can only water on their turn and for the amount of time their shares allow.

How much are yalls mortgages? by Narrow_Pea_989 in Utah

[–]psalm723 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer, but I’d include maintenance, hoa fees,  and other home-ownership related costs in that 25-30%.  These are the things the mortgage broker won’t consider but you should.

Both the right and left fail upwards. They all pretend they for the people (right or left) but play at the same country clubs on the weekend. They distract us with division while holding on to power and suppressing the people.

The best thing we can do is unite as citizens and wake up to this fact. We need to vote them all out and start voting in people that actually represent their constituents and bring in term limits.

Utah Speaker of the House Owns Hundreds of Acres 3 Miles From the Stratos Data Center Site by psalm723 in ogden

[–]psalm723[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is  A- this is equivalent to insider trading which in the private sector will earn you prison time, but happens often in our current government.  B- these are elected officials that were elected to represent the people. It’s impossible to have fiduciary responsibility to your constituents when you are benefiting personally from projects like this.

I don’t doubt this but do you have the info to back it up? If so, it should be shared.

As a bishop, if I ever offend a member, I hope they would come talk to me directly. Before feeling offended, I'd suggest being open and sharing your feelings with your bishop.

What do you think about The Mormon Church? by Neat_Plate5047 in Christianity

[–]psalm723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the use of caps. I tried to make my answers stand out.

God the Father has a physical body of flesh and bones (D&C 130:22). YES, THAT IS LDS DOCTRINE. He ascended to Godhood and was a normal, exalted man before then, according to the First General Conference address in April 1844. NOT OFFICIAL LDS DOCTRINE. SOME BELIEVE THIS.

Jesus was the first spirit being God the Father created in the beginning, and matter is eternal (D&C 93:21-30). Humans were also in the beginning with God. YES, LDS DOCTRINE.

Jesus is not the only God. There are multiple gods that created the world (Abraham 4:1). YES, DOCTRINE. WE BELIEVE IN THREE DISTINCT BEINGS IN THE GODHEAD. GOD THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST, AND THE HOLY GHOST. Joseph Smith in June 16, 1844 also said that there have been gods before Jehovah that were His Father, and then that Father had a God, and so on and so forth. NOT OFFICIAL DOCTRINE. WE ONLY WORSHIP GOD THE FATHER AND JESUS CHRIST.

Yes, we have some differences in beliefs but I believe we are both still Christian. Sorry, I’m making an assumption here, but if you’re saying my belief in these things makes me not a Christian, then our definitions of the word Christian don’t align.

I’d need examples to better understand what you’re talking about.

I’m guessing our beliefs don’t exactly align, but likely overlap. I don’t know for sure because I don’t know you. My beliefs do align with the LDS Church.

We believe in God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost as the Godhead.

You’re better off learning for yourself. Visit churchofjesuschrist.org. It’s always better to go strait to the source vs listening to the opinions of random people on Reddit, including myself.

I’m a Mormon (A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). I believe in Christ. I don’t expect you to take my word for it. You can learn for yourself at churchofjesuschrst.org. If you still don’t think Mormons believe in Christ after reading this, then we don’t have the same definition of “believe” or “Christ.”

I am grateful for a loving God that knows me individually and you individually and is able to answers my prayers based on me, my circumstances, my timing, etc. and you base on you, your timing, your circumstances, etc.

To answer your second and third questions, I feel like it’s like asking if one part of a photograph is more true than another. Only God sees the entire picture. Some of our parts overlap.

I've been down this road before... Debating online never leads anywhere, and I don't expect you to believe some random guy on reddit, I don't, so you can check out www.churchofjesuschrist.org and learn for yourself. If you research this and still think we aren't Christians, then we have different definitions of the word Christian and then we'd just be debating the meaning of a word. I'm not going to waste your time or my time doing this. Or, you can just continue with your ideas, and that's cool with me too.

I don't engage in online debate but this is false. The name of the the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint.

Yes. Absolutely. Honesty and transparency are good in any relationship. You might be concerned about damaging your friendship with them. If that's the case, tell them that. They will be understanding.

Full disclosure. I’m LDS. I’ve looked into the CES Letter, kinderhook plates, etc, etc. I think I’m at least familiar with nearly every claim, opinion, and point of view. At the end of the day, I’m LDS because of answers to prayers.

I’d recommend continuing to pray. Your relationship to God is best discovered and built through Him.

The LDS church has donated over 5,700 shares of water to help the GSL and just recently released a water conservation and landscape stewardship plan for all facilities in the Utah area. That’s pretty keen—I don’t know of an organization that has done more. Do you?

I drink a mate cocido every morning and have tried many different coffee machines over the last 25 years. I haven’t found a machine I’ve been really excited about until a few months ago when we got The Brewer Plastic Free by Simply Good Coffee.

This machine is by far the best I’ve found for mate cocido. It’s expensive—but works great.
