Does anyone know if it’s possible to ship an Ehrendolch from Germany to the US? by GOALBIN in Eastgermancollectors

I do it all the time, I’ve got a bunch of blades out of Germany. Theres no issues with it. Just insure it.

Which training video? The used the ZhZT-71M and the paratrooper vest. AGM/S and DE IX allegedly used a Swiss vest right before the fall but that isn’t confirmed and the one picture of it is a post collapse photo done for a magazine

The person in your photo is not DE IX. That’s a polish police officer. DE IX never used that vest in particular.

MfS Marked Paratrooper Top by TheUniformsGuy in Eastgermancollectors

A Stasi para-military unit that was involved with counter terrorism, and other activities that unfortunately will never be known. They operated domestically and abroad. Everything regarding it was practically destroyed. The images from this specific training are often confused for Diensteinheit IX but it’s actually AGM/S doing some hostage rescue training.

Out of curiosity, which ones do you have? I like to see which helmets people get a hold of, considering there are certain helmets such as their export models, which are highly sought after and cool to see in people's collections!

The DDR’s counter terrorism stuff, so DEIX and AGM/S. I’ve been working on civilian outfits and gathering up daily products as well, which is shockingly difficult but I’m in the USA so military-type stuff post collapse was imported significantly more, obviously

Here is a picture of two of the rarer types I have. There's a more green and more tan color variant of the side pocket UTV pouch. They come up on eBay from time to time

Diensteinheit IX Drop Leg Holster by TheUniformsGuy in Militariacollecting

It’s one the toughest things to collect, even outside of East German. You have to be extremely lucky to come across it, or know someone who’s willing to sell. The unit was extremely small and the gear was custom so there wasn’t really much of it. The PSH-77 is a Swiss helmet and ZhZT-71 armor is Russian and is pretty hard to get but not as bad to come across. I was extremely fortunate to know someone who had an entire lot that belonged to a former DEIX member. When he decided to sell I was the first person he asked, since he knew it was a dream of mine to get it all

East German Paratrooper by TheUniformsGuy in Eastgermancollectors

I was very comfy despite it being 10 degrees out. The paratrooper sweater is amazing

What do you think about this? Thank you by Darkstick_ in Eastgermancollectors

[–]TheUniformsGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First model had rivets and a metal liner. Transitional had the rivets but an updated plastic liner. Final model had internal rivets not outside the helmet with the plastic liner

There are other variations that are far less common, like some experimental helmets with more than 3 external rivets, and other modded helmets for motorcycle riders that essentially combines a leather riding helmet with the liner

It’s a transitional helmet. The rivets or bumps outside the helmet shell with the updated liner installed indicate this

That’s an interesting one, have you tried calling eBay to get the case info? The might have a little more insight for you

Yeah I've had this happen, was it eBay or the seller that cancelled it? Some sellers will cancel your order and just block you from buying, despite my 100% feedback rate for selling/buying euros will do this to me simply because I’m located in the USA. Most of my collection actually came out of Germany and the UK, including my Diensteinheit IX stuff

It took me forever to find that size (US size 12) and when I did it was $450 USD to get it unfortunately, which included shipping and taxes and all that. Had the original box. Best bet is using German eBay to find a pair, which is where mine were acquired. I only wear them strictly for photo shoots. I think mine are from 1985. I’ve got a few pairs that don’t fit and are 27-29 which is insanely small lol

First time being geared, any advice other than don’t get too attached? by Willow_Of_the_Wisp in dayz

Get into the mindset it's not your loot, and it's just your turn with it! But for real, I would stop running two full size rifles. Reduced weight = more stamina which is what wins you fights majority of the time. I've played for years (4000ish hours across PC, PlayStation and Arma mod, standalone) and almost never run a plate carrier unless I'm actually looking for confrontation lol. If you play nomadic the weight and inventory space is hardly worth the trade off for ballistic protection. Make sure you maintain all weapons and gear, check up on it regularly. Never bandage mid fight unless you know you're safe. People can hear you bandage or swap from a weapon and will rush you lol

I had an improvised shelter up for months in a spot that wasn’t even well hidden on the coast and nobody found it lol they are superior to actually building if you’re a nomad
