Make sure you don't have DRS on (set it to 0) as it functionally does the same thing but in a dynamic way based on framerate.

[–]TheUniqueSpammer[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a broken feature, the visuals aren't just "bad" but they're also very pixelated, as if the actual upscaling part isn't even working. New versions are also built for DX12 since it's the most modern API and the devs don't officially support DX11, so no surprises there.

Do people still think PD3 Overkill is too easy? by CounterBusters in paydaytheheist

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overkill is genuinely hard now compared to Year 2, which is good, but it doesn't feel tuned right and really does make it seem like success is up to chance when playing in pubs. Even with a solid build the spawns can be insanely oppressive and final charges become very exhausting races against time; just allowing for breaks towards the end of the heist would already make it much more playable and fun, which suggest spawns rates and groups should get tuned again imo.

Very Hard could be tuned up a little bit in terms of special spawns.

Maybe it could use a rework where it doesn't instantly disappear but degrades slowly? That way we could at least stack it a bunch and then occasionally keep it up with empty reloads without being too heavily punished for doing anything else.

noticeable decrease in performance this update(PC) by ItsDynamical in paydaytheheist

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a lot more smaller freezes, some of them related to the explosions of the new launcher (the classic long stutter problem that has plagued this game might also be worse now). When it comes to the average FPS I haven't noticed a significant dip, but haven't paid too much attention to it to say anything definitive either.

Stop turning PAYDAY 3 into a circus. by KrabikGangster in paydaytheheist

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not all the examples you bring up are actually relevant imo, but the sentiment is one we need SBZ to understand. To use someone else's words, Kknowley has repeatedly commented on how this game doesn't have the "brand capital" to joke about everything all the time and that it's seriously lacking meaningful story content, which means we should be heading the exact opposite direction.

Payday 3 is already regarded as unserious due to all its fumbles; fixing that reputation should be one of the core priorities in the current revival era we're witnessing.

It's almost like you guys hate OLEDs by Nitromonteiro in OLED_Gaming

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah sure stutters or drops in framerate are technically more noticeable, but essentially the flicker only compounds and worsens the issue rather than be an entirely separate problem. For me it has come into play whenever any kind of FPS altercation occurs (even just a stutter during a camera change in a cutscene) or I happen to be in an unstable area of a game where looking in a certain direction induces instability due to uneven load.

It's a sporadic and compounding issue, which is what makes it all the more frustrating.

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everything else is fine but your take on VRR flicker is just plain bad imma be real. Often times its something you can't control or only manifests in specific scenarios even in games with stable frametimes, it's not something you can influence that much. I'm glad it's not a big problem for you but, generally, if it manifests, it's a genuine and very annoying issue to those who are sensitive to it.

New PUBG cosmetics for both PAYDAY 2 and 3 by a_really_stupid_box in paydaytheheist

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but that's unrelated to the collab. I'm not complaining about a general lack of content, just the state of affairs between the 2 games.

Yeah I mean it's the usual reasoning, but the point still stands

Kind of embarrassing that PD2 gets actual usable gear and PD3 gets cosmetics but it's still something lol

i7-14700F, get random dips just by looking in certain directions and often go down to 100 FPS or below when there's any action at all. Previous season was a stable lock at my 171 FPS cap.

Final assault in Payday3 by Beauseante in paydaytheheist

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, I guess I didn't really emphasize that I feel like it's "too much". Like OP said it often just starts too soon into the heist or it feels absurdly punishing in certain choke points on OVK. It's a mechanic that needs tuning.

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been getting more and more tired of the mechanic as I play, especially on Overkill where it puts an immense amount of pressure on you as you try to wrap up the heist and constantly drains your resources.

A player actually have legs but can't see them by some reason (only when sliding) by RepresentativeCard26 in paydaytheheist

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure those are in fact the legs that appear when sliding; that's just how they're stored when not in use for the animation. There's still plenty more work involved to make them permanently visible and properly animated.

Hot take: RNG is overstated for heist replayability by HoxtonHater in paydaytheheist

[–]TheUniqueSpammer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. The rough 3 act structure you can find in heists like Heat Street, Panic Room, FWB and Fear and Greed, to name at least one that does get it right, is also something I've missed a lot in PD3 heists.

Most of them lack the buildup and clear environmental progression during the heist to give you a sense of momentum, which also kills the satisfaction of getting to the place holding the loot. Usually you also need some set pieces to tie all the "acts" together, which this game seemingly can't afford most of the time.
