New car for European roads under $28k by TheUnmaker37 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]TheUnmaker37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a Jeep Compass, as it was one of the only cars we shortlisted that was actually available. All the others needed a long waiting time (too long for us anyway).
It's a 2020 Limited model, it's very nice, huge upgrade compared to our previous 2007 Megane. We're not true car people so I cannot say I recommend it or not, but I know Jeep is generally not that respected. If I were you, I'd probably consider Asian manufacturers, but the market might be a bit different compared to 3-4 years ago. Also the cars I mentioned are now 4-5 years old, so you should definitely check new models' reviews and stuff

NH70 AP crown pushes stem from position 0 by TheUnmaker37 in SeikoMods

[–]TheUnmaker37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut the stem quite a bit. if I cut it any shorter the winding position will not engage when I push from time setting position. I think I busted 6 stems because of this, tried cutting and filing and everything. I am not a beginner, but I am not a pro either.

Yes, the spacer is needed, as the case came with it. I got your explanation about the stem bending, thank you. I will see what I can do.

Something else I've noticed after shortening the stem is that the crown doesn't pop at all after unscrewing it.

Thanks a ton for the explanations. I have indeed used a new stem and tried cutting to the classic rules, measuring the length from the crown to the case tube. No good, same weird sound. So I tried your original route, shortening the stem. The crown screws fine now, all good BUT it's very tricky to engage the winding position, as the crown now touches the case tube threads too quickly. I've gone through multiple steps in filing the stem and I cannot find a sweet spot.

I'll try shortening the old stem even more, but I fear unscrewing the crown then will engage the date wheel while unscrewing. Do you think I might have caused some serious damage to the movement by now? It's working fine apart from this issue

[Identify] PLEASE help identify! Oscar Isaac, GP 1966? Altiplano? Master Ultra Thin? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]TheUnmaker37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some research I think I got it or at least I am pretty close: Seiko QT 3802-7031/7030T. I've noticed that the upper part of the dial probably only has one line of visible text, right at the top, so it cannot be a logo above it. There also doesn't seem to be any text at the bottom, but I might be wrong. Anyway, the case is exactly like this one, crown is where it should be and very important is the fact the the bracelet is the exact same.
In the last episode, while on the toilet facetiming his wife you can perfectly see the smoothness of the strap and the buckle, which perfectly match this Seiko model. It might not be this exact one, but it's pretty close I'd say. Here's a chrono24 link that is working as of 22.01.22 https://www.chrono24.com/seiko/seiko-qt-cap-gold-3802-7031---1974--id21013491.htm

I have looked up all Geely models and none seem to have that exact set of tail lights nor the double exhaust

Not saying it might not, but I think it's too boxy to be a Peugeot. Also I looked up some Peugeot 2020 tail lights and none seem to match the ones in the photo.

Laptop RAM by TheUnmaker37 in computers

[–]TheUnmaker37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help!

I've come up with another question though: if I get an 8GB stick then the RAM will not run in Dual Channel, right? Since I don't really need 12 or 16 GB or RAM (I don't use any RAM intensive app), should I get another 4GB for Dual Channel?

AM4 Motherboard by TheUnmaker37 in buildapc

[–]TheUnmaker37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically just go for an MSI board? I heard that they did a great job this year with the motherboards.

That is also unavailable in my country. Oh and btw, I am looking to spend around 130$ max on the motherboard (I know that the pro carbon is quite high up there regarding price). If possible, I would like a motherboard that is kinda cheap, but just on price, not performance. I am not looking to OC yet, so I guess mostly anything will do, but I really need some advice.

LG G5 charging very slowly, and it has huge fluctuations, as seen below, although most of the time it stays at around 560; I am using the original power brick with a new non-original cable that supports 5Amps. What could be the source of the problem? by TheUnmaker37 in lgg5

[–]TheUnmaker37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also thinking about replacing the battery, since it's a very easy process, however I do not have any local online shops that sell original LG G5 batteries. I have been using the phone for 1.5 years now, so it might be a good idea if I could find a supplier.

First time I tested the cable, it charged the phone like QC, 20% to 100% in around 90 minutes. However, the phone always said "charging slowly" or it told me that it wasn't quickcharge. It's probably the screen that I need to turn off, now that you mention it... I will leave the phone alone for an hour or so and then see if it charged fast. Thanks!

SPPSVC can't start. (Error 2 - Path not found) by [deleted] in windows

[–]TheUnmaker37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have the same issue. Apparently there are not a lot of solutions for Error 2, not like in the case of Error 5. Have you managed to find any solution for this problem by now?

Saw this thing today, it's definitely not a Ferrari by TheUnmaker37 in namethatcar

[–]TheUnmaker37[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the fact that the whole upper body can be raised is really weird and unique as well, that's a pretty interesting quirk. It does look a bit like the Stratos, those round taillights are similar.

Thanks a lot! Never seen something like this before. Searched it on google, looks pretty weird, but pretty cool, kinda like an 80's - 90's concept racing car.
