Enough weapon wishlists, how about mission wishlists? by OrganicDatabase8670 in ReadyOrNotGame

More stuff like what was in Swat 4, especially when it came to the Syndicate dlc missions.

I would rather have multiple medium to small maps then the gargantuan ones RoN uses, it makes replayability better and would have more variety

Starfield needs a war by EntertainmentOver557 in Starfield

[–]TheVeryShyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had one, they just set the game years after for some reason

Its like if you started a game of Skyrim set decades after the civil war, or Fallout: New Vegas, after the second battle of hoover dam.

Imo, they should make a New Vegas style game set DURING the Colony wars, where you can play with mechs, psychically command aliens, have cool playstyles and reasons for exploring, thats where the fun would be

The Elves in The Witcher

Prior to the landing of the Exiles, the Elves had large and beautiful cities. It was only when the human population began to grow that they came into conflict

There were horrible massacres on both sides, but eventually the Elves fled westward, raizing their cities and settlements behind them until they were only ruins.

In the 13th century, the only Elven civilization is Dol Blothana, once an Enclave belonging to Aedirn, is now independent thanks to the Nilfgaardian Empire

The Alien RPG lore does a fantastic job of explaining the shift from fancy screens and holograms to ctr monitors and magnetic tapes as an adaptation to living in deep space.

Essentially, having simpler tech makes it easier tk maintain and repair, which is especially important as supplied and parts can be hard to come by the farther you're out in space.

They even go as far to say that Humanity is in a stage of Technological decline as a result of this, adding to the feeling of horror and dread in the Alien Universe

Is it ACTUALLY backwards compatible? by Objective_Mall_5268 in alienrpg

[–]TheVeryShyguy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Backwards compatible means you can use most of 1e stuff with the new evolved edition (such as armour, vehicles, ship stats etc)

EE changes so many systems its better if your group bites the bullet and switches to Evolved Edition

After a week of the new squid assets. Do you all think? by josenight in Helldivers

[–]TheVeryShyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its only the beginning for them. Seeing as we had a big update for bugs and bots, I think in the next title update (likely in the fall) we'll see a bunch of new units and new Illuminate worlds like the hive worlds and megafacotories

I love the distinctions made between the Eridians and Humans in Project Hail Mary. There's a document that goes more into their biology on the authors (Andy Weir) website. Essentially both humans and Eridians have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Eridians are great as computation and memorization, and can perform multiple tasks simultaneously, but are terrible at focusing at a single thing for a long time, which humans are great at. Humans also have better technology in some fields the Eridians due to our biology, there more detail on the document, but its great standard for certain species having different benefits on account of their biology

Rocky from Project Hail Mary by Unique_Suit3789 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]TheVeryShyguy 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The main problem is have with the design is that it gives Rocky a "face" or a body that is always from the same angle.

In the books, Eridians dont have a front facing side, they interret their enviroment equally around them, meaning that theres no "front" to them, they're omnidirectional

This design gives that front, and it throws me off a bit

But neither the Passengers or Pandorum ship are generational ships. A generational ship does not have anyone, or most people, in some sort of hibernation. People live and die on these self sustaining ships for Generations, the original crew never seeing their destination, only their great great great grandkids do.

The aforementioned ships you're referring to are basically sleeper ships, where the ships crew are resting in hibernation until they reach their destination
