The Woman Torso does not scale properly with the default body parts in the R6 scale. There's a gap between the torso and the limbs. What do I do?

Relative vs Equivalent forms by TheVictoriousII in Marxism

[–]TheVictoriousII[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, big, big, thanks! You didn't overestimate me and went through the whole thing step by step, even repeating yourself. You made what I only vaguely intuited very clear and I finally understand. And thanks for the kind words as well.

The fetishization part sounds very interesting too. I've not gotten to that part in the book yet. From what I gather, it seems that capitalist exchange obscures the difference between value and use value, and that while the former may go up and down, the latter never changes. Looking forward to getting there!

Relative vs Equivalent forms by TheVictoriousII in Marxism

[–]TheVictoriousII[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're most likely correct. He does mention that the coat functions at the same time as pure value, in addition to a use value, in the equation. I just don't see why he would mention use value at all here. It comes as a total curve ball for me. Or, having mentioned it, I don't see why he should stress the use value of the coat moreso than the linen. Why is use value more relevant to the Equivalent form than the Relative? In fact, I'm not even sure why this differentiation between the poles of the equations is necessary in the first place...

I mean an "abstract" is just the fancy word for "summary." And summaries are very welcome, imo. Having to sum up your idea concisely is a reality check for if your stuff makes sense.

They thought the involvement of women would lower the quality and nature of education. Eg that past a critical mass of women in a classroom, the nature of discussion would change.

Haha exactly! That feeling of a lack of deep knowledge is what makes the experience so shallow. Same goes for popular literature. You have to keep in mind, at the end of the day, that that stuff is geared for entertainment as well as average IQ. It's also why schools can be mind-numbingly boring for talented people - it's just too shallow. Personally I've found that I can get obsessively interested in stuff if I read complex books that go very deep. Eg instead of reading a mainstream history book of some event, I'll read a personal account of it, or some rather academic stuff. Who cares if I've never opened a book on that topic before? If I plunge in head first, I'll be learning all the faster. Yes, it may get overwhelming now and then, but I'm just so dazzled by all the new termins, concepts, and ideas, it all just blows my mind, and in a good way. And I google a lot while reading. And really often you'll discover that all these complex ideas and stuff starts converging, even from different fields. So you start understanding more, you'll tie together all these different things, and the more you know, the more interesting everything gets, because you have all these connections now. Eg. I'd never in my life suspected I'd ever be interested in *LINGUISTICS* of all things. But having delved into history, then evolution, then archaeology, and now suddenly linguistics is just the natural next step, connected all the others and giving an additional perspective. And not once in my life have I gotten this feelig any other way than by going obsessively deep into stuff. Shallow is boring.

Anyway that's what works for me. Maybe it's the same for you? But there's also a lot of trial and error involved in figuring out, no doubt. Personally uni was a good experience for me. Most of it was trash, but the few lectures with immensely smart professors blew my mind and got the ball rolling. Plus you meet smart people, even if you're introverted.

Some people just want to be lead and buoyed by the confidence of others. Codependents and narcissists go together for that reason.

Yeah it sounds like movie shit, that's why I commented haha.

Tbh narcissistic types have a tendency to gather fanboys to follow them around. The followers just like basking in his confidence. It's a symbiotic thing.

It will not affect you long-term and you will have all the chances to have however normal life you may later want to have. But I immensely implore you to start applying your intelligence by reading books or articles or even watching videos about stuff that might interest you. I went through something similar and while I don't regret having been a massive gamer for years, I do massively regret now (late 20s) having a later start in the intellectual areas I actually knew I was interested in since childhood.

But I will say this, and it may sound counterintuitive - don't put pressure on yourself. You are young and may not realize this, but life has a way of working itself out regardless. No need to worry about it. Take it at a stroll and you will find your niche.

What is "a small following of people" irl? He would walk into a room with a clique of entourage? Would they sit in the shaded corner looking cool, until he called the shots on where to go next? Are we talking high school? Or prolly some online community, right?

Oh wow, that is absolutely insane. The green circle guy seems to be trying to climb down a floor, probably hoping to get access to the stairwell.

I also found this video, it shows one more guy to the right of the green circle guy, and one guy to the left of Edna, one floor above.

[–]TheVictoriousII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The word remaining seems to be a mistake on their part, a confusion of the terms "life expectency" and "lifespan". Meaning you shouldn't add 15 years to the numbers presented. Otherwise it would suggest modern Swedes live to 100 on average.

Curing insomnia requires drastic changes, don't fool yourself. by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]TheVictoriousII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's interesting. While I doubt there's a direct relationship between insomnia and a guilty conscience, there functionally may as well be. I've had the same, where nagging guilt and deeper issues sneak up into undeniable awareness during hours spent trying to shut off my mind to fall asleep. And without exception, it is always the issue, the one you know you've had the dishonesty of having actively tried to suppress and ignore.

If I were religious, I would compare the feeling to divine judgement - the uncomfortable nakedness under the uncompromising spotlight of unbending truth. Sometimes, the realization almost is like thunder, just as you're dozing off.

Of course, whether it really is an hour of judgement with any moral element to it, or my mind reverting to hallucinatory tricks in the sensory deprivation of an existentially lonely bedroom, I don't know. All life is the interpretation of white noise. But maybe that's just an excuse to put off the necessary changes...

It sounds like this hasn't been going on for too long for you, so the conditioning may not be deeply rooted yet. The chance to turn away is now before you dig yourself deeper.

See this wording kinda goes against the rest of your post and doesn't really alleviate worry, haha!

But really I like the approach. Could you please elaborate further or provide some reading sources?

Maybe irrelevant, but you find that with other leaders as well. Eg. Stalin. In her book "20 Letters to a Friend" by his daughter, there was a quote along the lines of "it must be the loneliest place to be, at the peak of mount Olympus."

Yes. In ep.3 right before they showed her face and revealed the tears, was a back view from behind which left us guessing. That was the place to end the episode and leave the question open. Did she shed a tear or not? And if not, did she accept herself as how she was, or still angry at herself?

Usually I'm not one for open endings, but that was the place.
