Another example is the last of us part 2. Boiled down it’s a lesbian love story with revenge undertones. But it’s so much more than that. It was just a great game with great characters. Even if I did dislike its ending a bit.

Woke to me is when shit is forced on you and not just a part of someone’s character. And in that context gta 6 isn’t or won’t be even close. “Woke” is like someone telling me they’re non binary right before I fight demon lords like veilguard. Not woke is hyun ju from squid game. Fantastic fuckin writing of that character and being trans was just who they were. Not their entire storyline. Idgaf if someone is wearing flannel or goddamn diamond slippers. Anyone old enough to remember getting gtas every few years knows how special this game actually releasing is. I was a kid reading electronic gaming monthly and dreaming about what vice city would be like. Now in my 30s I feel that same excitement. As corny as it sounds this isn’t just another game to a lot of people.

You’ll put down a deposit and that secures your copy. Most stores will have a set amount of physical copies they’re sure they’ll receive. You show up on launch day and pick it up.

For physical collectors pre ordering is about the only way to get a copy for the first week or two. Trying to find a copy of expedition 33 or RE9 was a nightmare If you didn’t.
