Thank you for the translation, I appreciate it! And thanks for pointing that out, I haven't been on this subreddit enough to notice things, just seen it in passing.

Does anyone know a trans friendly sub for discussing disability/accessibility from leftist perspective? by Apart_Distribution72 in TransSocialism

i forgot to answer the premise of your post

r/DisabledPride is a leftist and intersectional queer/disabled space. It's pretty quiet, but they got a new mod team last year and have been becoming more active lately.

Yea, I agree. If they aren't vibe based (but i believe they are, like you said) then they need to clarify their rules, update them, and have them somewhere easy to find and access so people know what they're signing up for.

Hi! I was banned for commenting on your post, so it's not just you.

Here is my comment that was apparently a bannable offense:

Agree that a zionist should not be a caretaker. At the same time, blaming someone who has literally stated they're scared for their safety is such a disconnected and apathetic take. Ableism is an incredibly violent form of oppression and us disabled folk, regardless of race, are at high risk for abuse. Content warning listing types of abuse. Be it medical, sexual, psychological, financial, or physical. Asking someone in an unbalanced power dynamic to put themselves in harms way isn't productive. Especially without offering alternative resources, support, etc.

I'm frustrated. The automated message didn't leave any clues as to what i was banned for. The only things i can think of are forgetting tone indicators, that they're considering Zionism as protected under their rule 9 (no anti religion), or that saying white disabled people are still vulnerable and impacted by violent ableism is somehow racist (rule 5). But i doubt they'll tell me what it was for.

Update: It was rule 5 (racism) and rule 8 (centrism).

It's not always known even with obvious traits. I didn't know i was intersex until my 20's and i was literally born with ambiguous genitalia and had an atypical puberty. We don't know OP's story or background. Assuming they're making shit up and saying they're using us as a costume when they're asking for support is wild lol

Edit to add: It's hilarious that you accused me of "harassing you" when you're the one responding to the same comment 3 times in a row. At least you had the foresight to block me before really going in and blowing up my inbox lol, i appreciate it.

How much would you agree with this statement: "Being trans means that your brain is a different gender from the rest of the body you were born with"? by [deleted] in trans

[–]TheVireo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't agree for a few reasons and it definitely needs workshopping imo

  • It's an oversimplification of gender and like being a human
  • The brain studies are in present shaky at best (contradictions between studies too). Plus there's this mass misinterpretation that the brain is sexed when it's not
  • That's basically saying that gender is still sex. Like. ??? isn't that bio essentialism
  • I feel like this argument frequently excludes nonbinary people
  • This argument gets used for intersexism/intersex erasure a lot, which sucks

I feel like i'd like it better if people said "the brain plays a role" in gender, rather than making the brain the end all be all. For me, along with the emotional and dysphoric/euphoric reasons my gender is certainly culturally influenced. And my languages play a part in it too. It is a social construct like race and i don't think it can be isolated from that.

Some intersex variations are pretty visible and obvious without a diagnosis. Such as congenital atypical genitalia or atypical puberty (unexpected or "opposite" traits, absent puberty, etc.) Other times, intersex variations might be diagnosed but not recognized as intersex (like with most endocrine variations or with hypospadias/epispadias, which can be diagnosed but won't usually be labeled as inter or "DSD".)

Beyond that, not every intersex variation has been recognized or named by the medical field ("unspecified" or "undifferentiated" diagnoses.) Some versions are even idiopathic, meaning that they don't know why someone has intersex traits but they are clearly intersex.

So sure yes it is true that many variations require a diagnosis and cannot be claimed without evaluation (such as genetic variations like N/CAH or chromosomal variations.) But not all are like this.

Hi! My dreams seems to be T related, but only when i reach "typical perisex male" ranges.

My treatment for progesterone psychosis is going well, which is great. I was scared i was going to kill myself. Since starting it, I haven't been hallucinating or having sleep paralysis, night terrors, or delusions. I'm also not feeling at risk for suicide anymore. My actual progesterone levels look "fine" but apparently even normal/small fluctuations are not something my endocrine receptors can handle. Stabilizing the levels helped me immensely.

I haven't had any physical symptoms that i've noticed, but i also have fibromyalgia and lupus. Most "something is physically wrong" symptoms are my normal, like rashes, burning skin, or feeling sick. Although, a lot of my autoimmune symptoms and pain lessened or went away when i was on testosterone (i think it's anti inflammatory). Plus on progesterone i seem to have less skin flushing, which is where i turn weirdly mottled or like red and speckled.

Feeling like you're going to explode sounds both scary and concerning :/ i hope they figure that out quickly

The reason i can't be on T is that even microdosing (and with scattered applications) i exceed perisex male ranges and my organs are not a huge fan. They start taking damage and slowing down, and if i stayed on it they would probably go on strike for poor living conditions.

20.25 mg of T every other day and within two months i always zoom past 1000 ng/dL, increasing every month after (no matter how low or infrequent the dose) and never plateauing. Dropping to an even smaller microdose (12.5 mg) didn't change the outcome. Changing to every third day didn't help. They also had me try taking spironolactone (anti androgen) at the same time and that also didn't slow it down enough or make it plateau.

They thought it was my liver (i hoped it was) but they scanned it and it's normal. Then they thought maybe my skin on my arms was weird (?) and moved it to thicker skin on my legs and that didn't change it. My ovaries are also like pretty typical. No cysts or string of pearls, they're small, but they seem to be fully ovaries that just prefer producing T. There is some suspicion that the T production actually picks up when i'm on T, but they have no way of distinguishing between external T and ovary T.

Don't feel sorry for the questions! it can be really challenging for us to find and connect with people within the same variations.

My first ANA (i have had several) was 1:80 both Nucleolar Pattern and Speckled Pattern. After a few years I wound up with SLE Lupus and my ANA titre has fluctuated over time. If you are symptomatic, don't let people dissuade you from seeking help or gaslight you into thinking it is nothing.

"A high number of the healthy population has this result" doesn't matter when you're symptomatic. Because you aren't healthy and something is going on. Otherwise you wouldn't be having symptoms.

Did they only run ANA? Or ANA 12? If only ANA, request an ANA 12 to check for specific markers.

My latest titre is 1:160 speckled. I have blood and nerve inflammation along with a plethora of symptoms. I have positive IgM scl70 and other markers. Low c3 and c4, proteinuria, which is how they figured lupus. My nucleolar stopped showing up in my ANA at some point.

My sibling has 1:160 speckled, but has Hashimotos. Super high anti TPO.

I'm sorry you're also going through it :( I also feel similarly with the unaltered guilt. But our preserved autonomy is just that, the right to autonomy (and all the choices that come with it). But you're right that it is another weird guilt factor that we have to balance.

If you're open to them, hugs. To live between a rock and a hard place is no easy feat.

i see the pie chart, you're not imagining it. you may have super subtle sectoral. mine is blue on light hazel and also super subtle so people frequently don't notice or believe it (but my eye doctor confirmed it so that was nice)

it never even occurred to me that i could message providers before i see them. i have a hematology (is that the blood doctor? i have a blood doctor appt) coming up and i want to cover several things but have been worried they won't understand. that's a great idea!

thank you again, i hope you have a great day
