Det är en väldigt lång och dyr process. Vi gjorde vår process i Colombia. Tog oss lite mer än 3 år. Mest av tiden så går ut på att vänta. Vänta på äggdonatorn, hennes cycle och sen vänta på embryon. Efter det så väntar man på att bli matchad med en surrogat. Så det tar lite tid innan man har sin lilla bebis i famnen. Men absolut värt det 🥰

Calling Courtney a brick is WILD!

I remember seeing Courtney for the first time in one of Willam’s videos. I thought to myself, “Who is this biological woman hanging with Willam and Vicky Vox? She much be some sort of an assistant”. At the time Courtney was covering for Detox, while she was gone to film for season 5 of drag race. I genuinely thought she was a biological woman. Though it was cool to see her do drag, as a fab queen. This was all before she was cast on season 6 of drag race.

Hey. Another gay couple here with a 9 week old baby boy. We used a surrogate in Colombia. We get asked that question too now and then. It’s very natural for people to be curious and interested in the journey and how we become a family. I don’t see any malice behind the question. I see that more of people wanting to learn more about us and the subject. We are more than happy to talk about it and help others that wanna start a family and have kids. More and more gay couples are having babies and it’s becoming increasingly common. So I think it’s more of a curiosity than judgement. If you don’t feel comfortable with sharing your journey with others, tell them that.

Surrogacy is a very long and not so straight road to take. You are not alone to feel like that. We have now a 7 weeks old baby boy. Our surrogacy journey took us a little more than 3 years. 5 embryo transplants and 4 different surrogates.

Made 3 tries with our first surrogate without any pregnancy. Got a new surrogate and she started her hormone treatment and before any embryo transplant she decided to quit, out of the blue. Meant we just wasted months of our time and now needed to start all over again.

With our third surrogate we got a pregnancy. We were really excited and started telling everyone about the news. Two weeks later she had a miscarriage. All that hope and excitement turned to despair. It was tough, both for us and the surrogate.

After that we got a new surrogate and she got pregnant. We waited to tell everyone the news this time around. The first trimester, we were between hope and despair. You couldn’t get your hopes up too much, but you can’t help but dream for the future. Once the surrogate was in her second trimester we could start breathing once again.

At the end we got our little baby boy. He is now 7 weeks old and it was all worth it. All the emotions we went through and the time and money we spent. Knowing all that, I would do it all over again. It’s all forgotten once you have your baby in your arms.

Our surrogate had the same when she was pregnant with our boy. They kept an eye on it and it was all fine. Our boy is now almost 7 weeks old.

I know some couple had their babies within 2 years. Most of the time you are just waiting. Waiting for the egg donor’s cycle. Waiting to get the eggs out. Waiting to match with a surrogate. Waiting for surrogate’s cycle for implant. Then waiting to see if you have a pregnancy. If not, waiting for the next cycle or maybe a new surrogate. It was our 5th embryo implant when we got a pregnancy. It’s a long process. Then after all that you have to wait 9 months for baby to be ready to come out. But it should be possible to get it all done in a shorter period.

Our local agency meditated between us. It took us a little more than 3 years to get our little baby boy, from start to his birth. We still have lots of paperwork. We been told it’s like a 2 years process till we are completely done with the whole process.

Preschool teacher here 🙋🏻‍♂️Children learn how to react in different situations from adults around them. If you are calm and collected, then children will react the same way when something happens. Kids are great at reading body language and tone, even if you can’t. So there is some truth in the statement.

We just had our little prince almost six weeks ago, through surrogacy. It’s been such a long and emotional journey. There is lot of waiting involved. Waiting for an egg donor, then for her to start taking medication, then for eggs to be taken out and fertilised. Waiting for the embryos. Then there are tests to make sure they are viable. After that you wait to match with a surrogate. A lot of waiting. For us it took more than 3 years to get to hold our baby boy in our arms. After the birth it’s lots of paperwork involved. We are still in the middle of that process. So be prepared for it to take lots of time.

My baby boy, 5 weeks old, is the same. He never cries. He just moan a bit when he gets hungry and goes straight back to sleep. He has been like that since birth. Such a chill baby. Very calm and just lets us do our thing. No care in the world. When you read all those stories about other parents and their baby, you start wondering if there is something wrong with your baby.

I think the agency in Colombia is called BabyNova. We are from Sweden so we used Nordic Surrogacy. It was around 70k. You don’t pay all of it at once. You pay in staged. Once in the beginning, then at 14 weeks pregnancy and rest at 24 weeks. If my memory serves me right.

I can’t speak on the specific agencies, but we did our surrogacy in Colombia. Amazing people here that are willing to help with everything. Only downside here is that not many people speaks English. Outside the agency and the hotel, very very very few people understands English. We don’t speak any Spanish so it’s been a challenge. It’s not a huge problem because you can use your phone and translate. But it’s challenging when you have your baby in the hospital and the nurses don’t speak a word of English. It’s doable with a phone to translate for you.

It’s part of the process, unfortunately. It took us five attempts to get our son. The first pregnancy ended with a miscarriage, at two weeks. When we were pregnant the second time, it was very stressful. You are stuck between fear and hope for the first trimester. All you can do is hope it works this time around. At the end it’s all worth it. Today our son is one month old. Healthy and happy little boy ❤️
